Hi, I'm using a HTPC and recently upgraded to windows vista SP1. This disc used to work but I tried recently and I couldn t even get my computer to read it. I was wondering if anyone with vista (regular or SP1) could test theirs and let me know if they have the same problem.Thanks.

Well known problem disc. Do a search. As for HTPC playback, that isn't really discussed here. Try the HTPC section, specifically the threads on your playback software.

Works on my xbox360 drive (attached to my Vista PC), HD-A2 and HD-XA2. No go on the HD-A30 and HD-A35. Great PQ w/DTS master audio. Great film as well :).

Thanks Brajesh. Do you have have service pack 1 installed? I have the xbox 360 drive as well and I can't get it to work. I m assuming that Microsoft monkeyed around with something in SP1 since it works on my laptop.

Works on my Vista 32 bit machine w/ sp1. Using 360 add on drive using Nero Showtime.

Yes. Are you using the xbox360 HD DVD drive? That works for me, but not my combo LG HD DVD/Blu-ray burner for playback.

I ve got both the 360 addon and the LG combo and both don t work. I can t think of anything else that would be preventing me, basically because all of my other HD dvds work, just not this one.
Edit: Problem solved. I also have a usb HD dvd drive that I got from Taiwan and that works. Why it does and the Xbox one doesn t I do not know, though it could be on its last legs( it the xbox 360 is anything to judge by).
Thnx everyone for the help.

I can't play this title on an LG GGW-H20 drive: can't even see a directory list of disc contents before the drive just gives up.

It is successfully read by an xbox360 addon drive.

AnyDVD HD reports that the disc is not AACS protected.

PowerDVD 3516 reports the English DTS-HD MA soundtrack as Dolby Digital 5.1 at approx 2100kbps, but eac3to reports it as DTS-HD MA.

This is one screwed-up disc.

I have Stalingrad playing on my A35. I contacted one-call in France for a disk exchange. It seems there was a problem with the initial pressing causing the gen 1/3 issues. I found the info here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=816952&page=5). Sent just the disk, received a new one in about 6 weeks. Hope this helps.

Well, I just sent them an email (translated to French via Babelfish) so we will see what they tell me. That is if they can even make out what Babelfish actually spit out!!
