Sounds like your lamp is getting old.

You have been watching pretty close to the same lumens for awhile. BUT, the distance between the two surfaces in the bulb itself are wearing off and the distance though microscopic is almost too far to strike. The warning light turns on based on an electronic setting that says when it takes x amount more voltage to get the strike to occur, you get the warning light. The warning light is just that. "Hey! This lamp is getting close to going! You better arrange for a replacement soon!" Keep running it. You could get several hundred more hours before it goes or refuses to strike.

How many hours does your lamp meter read?

Edit: The PJ could also be setting the warning simply because of the number of hours and is not looking at the strike voltage at all. You would need to converse with the Z4 community more to find out which it is doing.
