The HC1500. COuld someone tell me if the Circuit City Warranty is worth the cost. Basically for 199.00 you get 4 years which includes 2 Lamps. Does anyone know how reliable these units are and whether it makes sense to go with the warranty?

I am also wondering if anyone has had experience with the CC warranty. Specifically I wondering if I have to send in the unit if the lamp goes or if they will just send me a new one. If they do just send a new one the warranty would probably be worth it because I would just request a new lammp at the 4 year mark...

I think the general consensus is, it's a good unit, but the color wheel is likely to go before the bulb if there's any problems. But the waranty covers a bulb, so it's worth getting if you believe you won't replace it in 2 years or so.

You'll never get a new one. It'll always be refurbished.

cc warranty are very good.
they will send you your fist lamp, no questions asked.
the second lamp they will ask some questions, maybe have you talk to a tech. but will still send it out to you. make sure you order it even if you don't need it before your time is up.

if any issues occur they send out a tech to your home.

and after 3 yrs 11 months. make sure something bad happens to it, they will not refurb it. and you will get a cc credit for the price you paid 4 years ago for the 1500. :D
