I am planning to buy a Denon 2808 or 3808, the omnisat v2 series except I will use 4 of the floorstanding speakers, and a Hsu subwoofer.

I was thinking of getting a HSU VTF-MK3. But I will take any suggestions. Maybe the VTF 3HO.
Any comments on the speakers please visit the speaker forum, there is an identical post there

Thanks

Marty

any other sub brands?

I am open to other ideas. My knowledge base is very limited. About 3 weeks of internet work. Please suggest. I think $1,000 max would be my limit. By what I have read, at some point I will have 2 subwoofers

An HSU VTF-3/3? Great sub because I have one, and I'm naturally
a fanboy! I suggest getting the turbo also...really helps with the
output, moves alot of air.

Save more money and add an MBM-12...it will really help with the
midbass.

All kidding aside, there alot of great subs that can easily compete
with the HSU. eD, SVS, Castle and so on. Maybe somebody
can jump in here with a different opinion.

Also how big is your listening area? cu ft....that info would be
helpfull.....good luck, vardo

For $1k for home theater, I would go with this (http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/CastleOverview.html). The limited information we have indicates that it should outperform vtf-3 (with or without the Turbo) by a substantial margin.

This speaker would meet the requirement of the second subwoofer?

Beware of running asymmetrical setups in relation to your walls. If your left speakers are somewhat close to the wall but the right ones are in the open, or vice versa, it's not gonna sound good.

That easily could happen. I might caticorner the TV. That might take care of the problem.
