Hey there, quick question for ya. Im planning on building a hush box around my PJ. Panasonic AE2000. But after reading the owners manual on the PJ. It says that the hot air outlets are on the front of the projector, and you should keep things 20" away from the front of the PJ to prevent damage. The hush box I wanted to build would only have a hole for the lense. Is this a bad idea? I plan on having a fan to suck out the hot air, and dump it outside the house. But do you think I should have the entire front of the hush box open? Its going to be a themed room, so Iam trying to hide the PJ. Your thoughts would be great.

uh...do some searches on hush box venting. It is a huge deal.

I am going to vent it. Im just asking if I should leave the front of it open, or will I be ok with just a hole for the lense. I have searched. Ive seen both styles. Im asking particularly about the panny ae2000 with the outlet vents on the front.

you need an intake and an outlet. just one hole for the lens will not cut it....there needs to be flow...flow...flow

I think Im just going to leave the front of the box open, and then have a single fan sucking the hot air that is in the box out. Do you have any recommendations on quiet fans I can mount to the side of my box?

Thanks ghause, is that what you use? Do you know of a temperature sensor that you can hook the fan up to, so if it gets too hot in the box, it will automatically turn the fan on, and off when its cool enough? Also, how do you wire up a PC fine to a regular outlet?
