So I finally get my hands on another KDS-50A3000, this is after sending the first one back to Crutchfield because of dirt on the lens which projected to the screen. I really wish now I had just kept that one and had a repairman simply clean it.
Then two KDS-55a3000's from Circuit City which were plagued with greenish blacks. Something I could not put up with.
Now I have this one, which I purchased new from ABC Warehouse for a heck ofa good deal. Only to plug it in and have the fan rev as high as it can seemingly go, then it gets an on-screen warning that the TV is overheating, make sure that exhaust ports aren't blocked and it will shut off soon.
Has anyone else experienced an overheating 3000 series TV. I'm in a bind, because I want to keep it, but I don't want it to be something seriously wrong to where the repair shop needs to tear the thing apart to figure it out, since it is the first 3000 series set they would have been working on.
So I either get the warranty repair or take back for a refund. Please tell me this has been seen before and easily fixed with success.
Best regards,
Stephen Densmore
