Hi,
I am a noob here, been lurking for a while. Can somebody recommend a book, that covers all the basics from construction, components, design, etc.
Your help is appreciated.
Also, there are some impressive projects posted here. Which ones in particular have a thread that would provide the most details for a noobie like myself.
Thanks!
Welcome. Chinadog's thread is one of the better ones.... very complete and with an index! Otherwise, just look for threads with a lot of posts as they tend to be the that have the most info (good and bad) if you can wade through all the posts.
There used to be an e-book for sale on here that was basically a collection of the most informative threads on this forum and it cut out alot of the unnecessary chatter. I don't know if it's still available or not but you could search for it. It was worth the price to me as a way to jump-start my theater construction.
Best of luck.

I cannot say I found any specific HT books that were of an use - I bought a couple and were a waste of time. Reading some of the build threads in this forum will yield better results (do a sort on posts - look out for threads like Chinadog, Swithey, Strangebrew, Sandman, Ronnie, Jikjack and BritInVA :D )
There is a on-line only Home Theater Book (http://www.thehometheaterbook.com/) that was written by forum member Warrenp with help of of some of the respected professionals on here....... I've not seen it but it has some good reviews. This along with a Electrical and General Basement remodel book from Home Depot / Lowe's should be a good start.
Plus start a build thread on here and solicit advice.
Good Luck.
Cheers,
Mark

Down load and print this county code document on finished basements it's a pretty good summary of the building codes generally used but you need to check with your local authority.

Thanks Guys...I am excited but I want to make sure before I buy or even start to build I've gained some solid knowledge so that I don't make bad choices in my HT.
