Hi, Noob question here...

There's a Sony KV-32HV600 for sale on craigslist locally for $280. I want to upgrade my bedroom tv (a 480i 27 inch). Here's what I'll be doing with it. Please advise if this is a good set for my needs and if the price is fair (should I offer less?)

-Watching SD and HD with a time warner cable box

-Playing last gen and older videogame systems (PS2, XBox, Gamecube via component, Dreamcast, Saturn, and PS1 via S-Video, and Genesis, SNES, and older via Composite or RF in)

What problems would you warn me about with this set?

How will HD cable look through component rather than HDMI?

I'm kind of looking for an all in one solution for my old school gaming obsession with a decent sized 4:3 that will make my older games look great. My last gen games don't look too good on my 42" Westinghouse 1080p LCD.

Please-any thoughts would be appreciated and let me know if this is the right place for these questions.

Thsnks

Anyone?

Or can someone send me a link to another post?

Thanks

This was top of the line 32" Sony in 2002, 2003 before XBR came out. I believe that MSRP was over $1600 at that time.

A bit of googling should turn up any common issues with the set. As for the price, I think it is a bit pricey for such a set especially given that it is 6-7 years old. I think $200 or less is more apporpriate but maybe I am just cheap.
