Hi,
My 40XBR800 recently died on me recently. It's a shame because I loved the TV despite its massive size and weight. The facts are that the TV was running perfectly until a few weeks ago. However, about a week ago, the TV took longer and longer to start. Then, it stopped starting all the time and the "stand by" light keep flashing. As time progressed, it started more infrequently as and began turning on and off the TV in an effort to keep it going. Some times I had to unplug it for a few hours and then start it. Unfortunately, my power went out a couple of times (unrelated) so I had to restart it. Otherwise, I would have never turned it off. It was fine as long as you did not turn it off. When it did start, it made a noise like it normally did when the set started (a powering up noise). When it did not start (or I keep trying to restart it), the screen keep black and "stand by" light keep flashing. Now the set won't start at all and the "stand by" light keeps flashing. Does anyone have any idea of what is wrong with the TV? If so, how much would it cost to fix it? Is it possible to fix it myself with no electrical skills?
Thanks
