I apologize to everyone if this is not the correct place to post this but I'm having trouble. I have a Dell Inspiron PC and a Samsung CRT tv. I just bought the mlb.tv package so that I could watch the Cardinals in Chicago both at work and at home. I am trying to connect my laptop to my CRT to watch the games but I do not get any video on my tv. I have connected an S-video cable to both my tv and pc but I seem to get no connection. The screen on the tv says "S-Video" but is completely blank. Am I doing something wrong or do I need some type of extra converter between the two? Thanks in advance to any that respond.

What card are you using for PC output? If it's NVidia then you need to make sure you have output resolutions matched to the cable your using, and to the input capabilities of your TV. S-Vidoe can't transfer above 480, and I don't know if your set can accept 1080p.

Has the laptop socket only four round holes plus a rectangular key?

Ummm, I have no clue what card I am using (if I even am at all?). My tv is not HD so I imagine 480 is all it's capable of. How can I find out what card I have or need?

Yes. Just like on the back of my tv that says S-video.

If it's a laptop it's probably onboard. Somewhere in Sytem Properties you should be able to see your video hardware & drivers. I don't know much about the SD Slimfits so you need to read up on your documentation and make sure you're sending a resolution the TV can accept.
