So I just upgraded from SD Dish network to HD, replacing my 522 with a vip 722.

And there's an odd recurring problem, which I just noticed about 3-4 days in.

The "info" overlay (what you see when you press the "info" button) is popping up spontaneously and randomly while I'm watching. Then I have to click OK to make it go away. It's quite annoying when it happens frequently. Sometimes 10 or 15 minutes or longer will pass between instances, other times it just keeps popping up mere seconds after I've made it go away.

Is this a known issue? Ideas?

Thank you!

Wow, thank you for posting that daniel. I have had dish for almost 2 years and I have an older 811 HD reciever that just started recently doing this as well (maybe in the last 4-6 weeks). At first I thought it was the batteries in the remote going so I changed them...same thing. Then I changed from RF to IR on the remote (using a Hramony instead of the factory remote), same thing. I was about to call Dish and upgrade my reciever, but if your 722 is having the same issue the issue must be service or satellite and not hardware related.

I had this same problem with my 722 when I upgraded to my new LCD tv....it was driving me crazy.

I removed my Radio Shack IR pyramid from the room and the problem went away...not sure why but it worked.

Did you resolve your issue?
