I'm looking for a sub mostly for HT and LFE, only occasionally for music if a movie has a good sound track.

So is 20 hz a good low end point to shoot for?

Could I go with something like the ED A2-300 (http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_41&products_id=407) or the Cadence csx-15 (http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=137&idproduct=398)

I've seen some threads of these but in larger rooms. Sounds like they go low enough, but maybe not loud enough for larger rooms. Would these subs provide enough low end extension with adequate output for a room size like mine?

My living room (http://kbhomes.com/images/floorplans/00500603_242.1708_floorplan_large_3.gif) is probably about 1755 cubic feet. (distance from front of media alcove to "back" wall is about 13 feet, ceiling is 9 feet tall, and distance from the left wall to the powder room is about 15 feet. The area is exposed to the stairway and a small corridor to the dining area.

My couch is directly opposite of the media alcove, and I plan on placing the sub directly to the right side of the couch, in that bottom right "corner" of the Living area.

Thanks for any comments!

I don't think you would be disappointed by either of those subs and they should be fine for your room. If you want to future proof yourself in the event of a bigger HT room in the future and can afford it, you could always go to a larger sub, as it will have lots of impact in the smaller room and be able to work great in a larger room as well

ah, so both those subs should provide low enough extension in my room?

I just bought the house so I don't see myself getting a bigger HT room anytime soon, i figure at least 7 years, so I just want to get something that will satisfy this rooms needs. And also, since I just bought a house I'm trying to keep costs down since i have plenty of things I'm saving for as it is! =D

Thanks for advice..
