I just finished the second Rainbow 6 Vegas game and have really enjoyed the first one and Gears of War. I've been weary of getting too many FPS, but would like to get one more until GOW2 hits later this year. Any suggestions?

I like a little more tactical game play than all out war, but any good game will do. Oh, and I don't play online.

The "Orange Box" is pretty good. Look for "La Boite Orange" in Canadian stores. The box is predominantly "French-first" for some idiotic reason.

COD4 is one of the best games out there, but not really "tatical". For some stop and pop action like RB6 or Gears try Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 or 2... probably 2 because is an upgraded version (but it is on the shorter side).

You could also give Bioshock a try, though thats slightly different then your standard shooter as you have other items you can use in a fight more effective then guns, but it is tatical in that aspect, but no cover.

Option A: Keep playing Gears. I'm one and half years in now and still play it 10-15hrs/week

Option B: Call of Duty 4. It's like R6V, except less broken and better in every way.

Option C: If you want something different than the R6V type of game, maybe give Halo 3 a shot. Most Gears/R6V people also end up CoD4 people though.

EDIT: Ok I just noticed you said no online, so obviously option A is out. In that case add Bioshock to the list.

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with COD4. It's a great game, the only thing that bothers me is the lack of cover and blind-fire that I so enjoyed in R6V--but the graphics and sound in COD4 are far superior. If you could meld the tactical aspects of R6V with the full-on action and graphics of COD4, you'd have the greatest action game ever.
