Gmichael2 04-03-08, 05:31 PM The Giants Redskins game on 9/4 is on both lists. Is that a preseason game, or the kick off to the new season?

Kickoff for the new season.
Hmmmm...no Patriot games in primetime. I guess the Pats are just too good for the rest of the country. They will take no prisoners next year.

steverobertson 04-04-08, 07:09 AM I am glad the Pats are not in the prime time slot I am sick of all the night games.

That's just the pre-season schedule and Week 1 of the regular season. NE will play Tampa Bay on one of those televised pre-season games.
Interesting the Hall of Fame game is back on NBC after being on NFLN last year.

The Hall of Fame Game is part of the NBC NFL tv package... they didn't do it last year because they were supposed to do the China game instead (at their request - for a tie in with their Olympic coverage), but that was postponed until 2009

The Giants have had their 15 minutes of fame. They will be lucky to even make the playoffs next season. The Pats will be back in the SB.

Maybe, but they will ALWAYS have that ONE GIANT VICTORY :D

Enjoy your "one and done".
Donnie Vie 04-04-08, 01:20 PM I wish the NFL exhibition season was limited to no more than 3 games.
This season is much too long and IS NO LONGER needed. This is not the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70', where players needed every single day of camp to get into game shape.
It's the 21st century. Players show up for camp already in shape.
The only winners are the owners and their box office receipts.
That's the bottom line and it's a sad state of affairs!!

Sorry Benji2. I am a diehard Pats fan but you have got to give the Giants their props. They are the champs and deservedly so. They should be able to crow and we should take our lumps. But 18-1 is still an awesome year and adds to our status as team of the decade. We will be back again.

It was an hour.
And don't be bitter.:D
Enjoy your "one and done".
Last time I checked we had 3 Super Bowl trophys.
18-1 is still an awesome year
If the 1 came in the regular season it would be awesome. But since the 1 came in the Super Bowl I would say it was a disappointing year.

Very well put I think you nailed it

Disappointing year? What? I'm a Pats fan and the season was fun as hell. It was a blast watching them drop 40+ on teams in consecutive weeks and the games that were close, were always really exciting to watch and i'll never forget the last game where Brady got 50, Moss got 23 and we made history by going 16-0. Losing in the Superbowl was extremely disappointing, trust me, that was the worst loss i've ever experienced as a fan. But that doesn't make the entire year disappointing. God dammit, what kind of football fan are you?

I agree. There's nothing wrong with coming in second.

I think this loss will carry over into next year for many fans I know a lot of people that still very disappointed in this loss and I bet the interest will wain a bit this up coming year because of this and the fact that Kraft thinks all fans are millionaires charging 175.00 per seat per game including preseason. I know lots of people have said thats it I am done and will no longer go to the games including my wife and her girlfriend and 6 others that I know that have passed up their seats because of this price increase.
DrCrawn 04-04-08, 03:49 PM Must. Live. Vicariously. Through. "My" team. :)

2nd place is the 1st loser.

Please don't be rude to all of America. It's not very becoming, even by the standards of a Boston area sports fan.
By the way, aren't all Pats posts supposed to go into the video components forums? Or were those films done in HD?
I'm sure one of the Pawts fans could clear this up for all of America.
PS: congrats on replacing the Yankees as the single most hated North American sports team. Go Pawts!!
I think golfer Gary Player said it best. The only people that care that you finished second are your wife and your dog, and that's only if you have a good wife and a good dog.

Such bitterness, but don't worry, there is always next year.
18 and oopps........ ;)

18 and oopps........ ;)You Giants fans must be very proud of your fantastic 10-6 season and your lucky SB win requiring a miracle catch that could never be duplicated again.
Benji2: You really need to get over it. I'm very proud at how the Giants responded in the post season to win it all. Improbable things, and plays, are what keep games memorable in history. 1980 US hockey team, NC States tip in at the buzzer, Cal Stanford game with the band on the field, Jets over the Colts in SB, I could go on. People forget things that were supposed to happen but the never forget the unexpected.
The Hall of Fame Game is part of the NBC NFL tv package... they didn't do it last year because they were supposed to do the China game instead (at their request - for a tie in with their Olympic coverage), but that was postponed until 2009
Thanks. I wasn't aware of that.

Agreed. But the owners will never do that because they need the extra revenue for all these new stadiums they have built. That's the only reason they play 4-5 games.

Hehe like my 99 Vikings that used to hold the single season scoring record. Lot of good that did us in the playoffs. I'd rather go into playoffs as a wild card and a crappy record and win a superbowl then go 16-0 in the regular season and not win it all.
Gmichael2 04-08-08, 01:49 PM You Giants fans must be very proud of your fantastic 10-6 season and your lucky SB win requiring a miracle catch that could never be duplicated again.
Our team won and your team lost. History has been written.

Bold Prediction:
once the new cba agreement is hammered out (peacefully hopefully) there will then be as follows:
only 3 preseason games but 17 regular season games thus allowing each team to play 8 home, 8 road, and 1 foreign soil (london, mexico city, germany etc.) game every year avoiding the current scenario of a team having to forfeit a home game as the saints are this year.
Kevin12586 04-09-08, 08:38 AM You Giants fans must be very proud of your fantastic 10-6 season and your lucky SB win requiring a miracle catch that could never be duplicated again.
That is what makes the win all the more enjoyable. How proud are you that your team is the MOST disappointed 1 loss team in history? ;)
History was written, and as much as you may not like it, the Giants are the 2008 Superbowl champions.........that was a great catch as well, but don't forget about Eli escaping 3 of your linemen to make the throw.
That 1 play will be played and talked about forever..........
TravelFan1 04-09-08, 09:12 AM You Giants fans must be very proud of your fantastic 10-6 season and your lucky SB win requiring a miracle catch that could never be duplicated again.
SORE LOSER!!! SORE LOSER!!!! SORE LOSER!!!:D:D
And you? Are you proud of 3 TAINTED with Spygate blood Superbowl wins?
Benji2, aka, what? Brady? aka Belinchick?
mikepier 04-09-08, 09:40 AM Listen, all the trash talk is behind us. As any NFL team will tell you, the hardest part about winning a Super Bowl is living up to your expectations the next season. You cannot carry over one season to another. 2007 is over. 2008 is a new campaign. May the best team win.
