Hi, :)
I actually own a BenQ 8700, old Dlp HD2 projector.
I think its end is approaching (making more en more noise)...
Most of all, my daughter (almost 3 years old) wants to look disney animated movies upon my 80" wide screen.
So I am looking for a new PJ (dlp can give headache or nausea... I don't want my daughter to be sick ).
It will be my fourth projector in ten years (Lcd, CRT and Dlp).
Now, I don't want to put a lot of money in my new projector as I did in the past. Each of my old videoprojector costed me more thant 4000 €.
I'm hesitating between two videoprojectors :
- the Sanyo Z2000 : very quiet, nice picture, sharp (but not as sharp as the Mitsu...), decent contrast. The only issue for me is the iris that I can hear sometimes. I would buy a new unit. In France, there is no double rebate just like in USA (but its price recently dropped so I think it's the same thing). The after-sales service is about 20 minutes (with my car) from my home (a good thing). :)
- the Mitsubishi HC5000 : very quiet too, very sharp, decent contrast. The only problem : I've seen a demo but only for 5 minutes. I was there to see a Sony Pearl and did not, at this moment, take a look at the Mitsu. I've recently seen a demo of the Mitsu HC6000. Very impressive but I don't want to spendy 3490 € for a videoprojector anymore. Especially when I analyze the use I've done for my differents vieoprojector (less than 800 hours of viewing during 4 years with my last one, the BenQ 8700). I can find some secondhand units for a few bucks in France (1400 €).
1st question : do you think it will be a good upgrade (the PJ will be in our living-room with white wall, parquet on the floor) ?
2nd question : the "one million dollars question" : which one would you choose and why ?
Thanks a lot. :)
