I talked with DirecTV about there new satellite that they just launched a couple weeks ago. The guy I spoke with told me we can expect nearly double the HD channels we currently have to come online by the end of Summer or Early fall of 2008. He didn't give any more info than that.

But then didn't they promise a future of upto 150 HD channels? So I guess thats about right. But it did get me excited to hear it over the phone today so just thought I would share.:)

How many of them will be true HD rather than upconverted stretch-o-visioned SD?
