[SIZE="4"]hi all!!
i want to take advantage of all the great online video, like avi files, and also the new x264 media showing up online.
my ideal setup would be, a powerful desktop connected directly to the projector, and playing the files directly off the desktop.
what kind of a desktop do i need? what ports does it need to have and which port would i use to connect it to the projector? if i buy a desktop with a BlueRay drive builtin, will it come with a DVI port or HDMI? what's the difference between those and the standard port we use to connect a desktop to monitor?
and would a 1080 projector really make, for example, a 624x256 resolution online video, look better than a 420 or 720 projector?
sorry for such an open ended question, but currently everything i own is analog, including my epson 420 projector, my tivo, etc. i am keeping my analog cable and satellite and tivo for now, but having the desktop + HD projector combo will give me the flexibility to enjoy HD when i want it.
ps, i am not happy at all with the way my SD epson projector projects my SD tivo'd TV shows-- would a 720 or 1080 projector make those SD shows look sharper??
