Are these guys authorized by Mitsubishi? Do we still get the warranty?

And the code works fine, thanks for that much :D

Their reseller rating is 7.3/10, which isn't terrible. But Visual Apex's is 10/10.

I'll just comment that 6th ave. IS a real store. They have stores all over north jersey and I've heard and experienced nothing but positive from them. They are NOT simply a internet direct shop. Reseller ratings is funny though, some people (companies?) make it a goal to set out and destroy reputations. But hey, believe what you will, but I wouldn't put 6th Ave. off the list of reputable places just because they aren't at the top of this page. They are a bit more than simply an audio/video shop as well, which makes them a bit different. It makes sense for a ID store that specializes in ONLY A/V equipment to be a sponsor on the BIGGEST A/V forum...but not so much an electronics shop. They always have pretty awesome prices, and maybe thats why they get beat up a bit on reseller ratings. :)

It's funny how some real stores, CC, BB, Sears, etc, can often have bad ratings when they're really decent physical stores. People are more apt to write something about them when they're ticked off then when they're happy. My point wasn't to disparage 6th Ave, just to show that there were better online places. And of course to at least do some research about the place before making a big purchase.

I have purchased several times from 6th ave (usually through Amazon Marketplace, sometimes direct) and have always been very satisfied. My last purchased was a Toshiba XA2, they even credited me three times inside 30 days per their Price Match Policy (the XA2 prices were all over the place before Thanksgiving '07).

They were authorized Internet Resellers for everything I purchased and this is usually easy to check at the Manufacturer's website.

went to circuit city today after work.

was going to return it and get the 6th ave deal.

when i explained to the girl the reason for the return she said "you know we price match plus 10%".
i said great..???? my past experience with the cc store has always been it has to be a deal you can get by just walking in to another store. no online deals.?

anyway she credit back to my card the difference plus 10% including the 6th ave coupon.
i was very excited...:D:D:D:D

I think the problem with resellerratings.com is that anyone can go and ruin or build anyone's reputation. I guess a more accurate rating would be that of the Amazon marketplace, since you can only leave feedback if you actually made a transaction and paid for it through Amazon.

What do you think?

This is great but does anyone know how much it would cost total for me if I bought and got it shipped to Toronto, Ontario Canada and the taxes? Also was thinking of buying the mack warranty from them 149.99 3 years bulb one.

Absolutely. There are certainly other ways of researching companies as well. In general, I just think people should do some research if they're going to be purchasing on the internet from a company they never heard of before.

Glad I didn't see this when I was buying the 4900. At this price it would have swing me to the 1500. Maybe I should convince the wife to get a backup for the 4900?

If you redo the order and use 'couponcabin' for the coupon, you will get 6 percent off.

There's a thread around mentioning the HC1600 that will soon replace the HC1500.

what JayG30 said..
Thay are great to deal with. There is about 7 stores in North Jersey and they are about the size of BB, CC ,etc.. I drove up to the New Brunswick store near Rutgers Univ. (about an hour away) and bought my Def Tech speakers and saved 60%!!. When they have a sale, no one can beat their price.

I wish we could, but there's room for only one coupon. You can always call the store and speak to a salesperson.

You're welcome!

I wish 6th Ave would hurry up and list the HC1600, although I want to get a better idea first of the differences before buying it.

Right, that's what the Mitsubishi website says:

http://www.mitsubishi-presentations.com/products/projectors/HC1600.html

The website says the color wheel is a 7 segment or a 5 segment, depending on where you are reading. The HC1500 has a 7 segment. That's the (possible) difference I want to know about.
