I am looking at a 1080p native resolution projector for my blue-ray dvd player.
Is there a projector calculator which can result in 1080p projectors where the throw distance is 17 feet (the maximum distance in my HT room) and the diagonal size of the screen is 183 inches. The size of the screen will be 162 x 93 inches (l x b).
I tried the calc at projectorcentral and that shows results of the projectors , but i need to click one by one which is tiresome to drill down.
My budget is less than 2000$.
Thanks

Very few if any under $2000 1080P units will be bright enough to light up a screen 13.5 feet wide with sufficient brightness. A screen that large has over 3 times the surface area of a more typical 100" diagonal screen. You would need over 1000 lumens, or a screen with a very high gain.

Is this in your living room? If you're maximum throw distance is 17 feet (I'm guessing the back of the room), a 183" screen is ridiculously big. My back wall is 18 feet back and a 105" screen is very large. Are you trying to make everyone feel like they're at an Imax theater?
I agree that 2 grand is not enough, I'm afraid. Is there a reason why you can't go with a smaller screen?

no, this is in the media room, the diagonal screen right now using the infocus 4805 throws a 120" size from 17 feet, i feel it is small, would like to go in for max to 180".
So my question is which projector gives the max diagonal screen from 17' using 1080p res.

I have a 24' by 24' room and with a camera mounted in the back wall, and wanted to know the same thing, my screen is about the same size and I wanted to upgrade my older Pani

You are either going to have to go 720p with a panasonic ax200 or spend another $800 for an optoma 1080 UB.
The new Optoma Hd72 is supposeldy a breakthrough in lumens, look for the review on projtectorreviews.com shortly. Couple that with a Da Lite High Power, and you MIGHT be in service.

I searched on the FIND PROJECTOR tool at PJC for a 1080p with a throw distance of 17 feet and a diagonal resolution of 183". Here are the results:

The Panasonic AE2000u however WILL work at that throw for a 168" diagonal.
Use a DaLite High Power screen to push the footLamberts up to a good level.

I'm guessing if his budget is only 2k for the projector he's not going to spend what I assume would be a lot of cash for a 182" high power screen!

He's not going to get 182" with his throw anyway.
However, a budget is what you would like to keep your costs to, not your limit. The High Power 170" is < $700 at Visual Apex.
So he could pick up the AE2000u and a screen for maybe $1K more than he planned but get nearly exactly what he wanted.
Some people like a really, really big screen!
