Has anyone tried this little gem for 5.1 analog switching. I know zektor switchers work and I know some have used rat shack ones but for 50 bucks this could be just want I am looking for. So if anyone knows if this will work chime in.

HERE (http://www.impactacoustics.com/index.asp?) is a direct link to the Impact Acoustics site, scooter. It may be cheaper there; I don't know. But, I do not think that unit will work for 6 analog ins/outs. Each individual input and the output only has 5 analog inputs/outputs. You need 6.
Many people have used THIS (http://www.buy.com/prod/philips-usa-ph61150-4-way-av-switcher-with-s-video-and-component/q/loc/111/206710106.html) unit successfully. It is usually available at TARGET and Wal-Mart, too.

After seeing some posts here I bought the Phillips PH61148 switch.
I have my (6)analog outs from my pc soundcard & a universal player both connected with the ouput feeding a receiver. About $22 @ Wal Mart.

Yeah, this one may actually work better than the one I linked to, as it is completely "manual". I think the one I linked to has "automatic switching" which, IIRC, some may have had issues with.

Anyone know anything about this switcher? If so does it work for 5.1 analog?

Anyone know anything about this switcher? If so does it work for 5.1 analog? It's really hard to see in the picture, but it looks like it has the requisite analog inputs/outputs:
3 component video = red, green, blue
2 analog audio = red, white
1 composite video = yellow
Is there some reason you don't trust the Philips units? I guess that one IS stackable with your components, though.

no nothing against the Phillips. But as I look a little more I see some like this one also offers toslinks as well. I could use one more digital connection so this offers the flexibility of having the analog in/out. So for the ports I'm not using for analog inputs I could use the optical in/out, plus it has a remote which I could program in to my harmony. I'm just wanting to make sure that it would work for analog audio so I was hoping someone might have some experience with it. Plus your right, it will fit nicely into my components and look right at home.

http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/impact-acoustics-component-switcher.shtmlUnless you aren't using a sub-woofer (i.e., you have all speakers set to "large" in the player) then this one will not work for 5.1-channel switching. You need 6 RCA channels per input. This one has five.
The same company (Cables To Go/Impact Acoustics) does make a 4-port version with 6-inputs per channel but it's more expensive (around $160). We just got this exact question in the Ask The Expert column on the site. You can find our full answer here: Not enough multi-channel inputs on my receiver - What to do? (http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/multi-channel-analog-inputs-1474.shtml).
Hope that helps.
