I have a Sony XBR plasma and last week it started to get lines down the left side. They sometimes they dissappear, so it gives me some hope that it can be fixed...but that's my optimistic side talking. My media box also blinks red 7 times when I turn it on. Anyone experience this?

I'm hoping I can fix it because it was cost me $7500 6 years ago. Does anyone know how to access the diagnonsis screen?

The crazy part of the story is that my warranty expired 3 weeks ago.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb, and say that since the TV is 6 years old, it is gonna cost quite a lot to fix. Also, I'm also gonna guess that it is an ED plasma, and not HD. You would probably be better off just buying a new plasma. They are pretty cheap these days :)

I agree with Skeelo. Your $7500 flat panel now cost under $400. Not worth fixing. I would get better features and performance in today's plasma flat panels...
