Samsung’s just released the new top of the range plasma for 2008, the series 7 provides the top spot for their plasma line up. Having also announced the lower ranged series 4 and 5, the Samsung series 7 plasma takes the cake. Pioneer ruled last year with their very impressive Kuro line up, and Samsung is fighting back with their new plasma and will take over the top spot in 2008.

The new series 7’s features Ultra FilterBright anti-glare technology, which reduces glare and does not effect the image, providing colorful, rich and clear pictures in bright rooms. A new software algorithm (ACE2) helps to reduce false image contouring and enhancing moving picture quality, leading to very impressive quality, along with a high contrast ratio of 50,000:1.

The Samsung series 7, or 7 series, consist of three rather large HDTVs; the 50-inch PN50A750T, 58-inch PN58A750T, and the largest 63-inch PN63A750T. Connectivity is very good with four HDMI 1.3 inputs, side mounted USB 2.0 port allowing music, and photo playback. Users can also access RSS feeds to view news headlines, weather, stock information and more.

All three sizes of the Samsung 7 series plasma are available now.

These should be impressive...It looks like they are going to have their midrange 5 series to their top of the line 7 series...

what's that ugly looking red trim on the top and bottom bezel?

Perhaps the touch of color Samsung has added this year.

well it was a stupid decission for them to add something that does not improve on picture quality.

will it increase sales for Samsung?

face it... it is a distraction and all black would be much better.

"Samsung is fighting back with their new plasma and will take over the top spot in 2008."

this is not fact and much closer to wishfull thinking.

You will have to wait for Pro-Reviews to determine this.

the fact is.... you jumped the gun.

I've been holding off on a big plasma purchase until the 63" series 7 comes out. I have several Samsungs HDTV's (46" DLP, 42"LCD, 2 x 32" LCD's) in the house and love being able to do split screen with 2 sources - which I'm expecting this one being able to do as well. Great during football season.

According to their press release during the CES in January, these were supposed to be out in "April 2008". Has anyone seen them anywhere yet? Where?? I'm jonesing to get my hands on one!

BTW - BEWARE!! The only places I've seen show the PN63A750 as "in stock" have been: fotoconnection.com, newconnection.com, 1stopcamera.com & tvsdepot.com. DO NOT BUY FROM ANY OF THESE VENDORS!! They are all alter-egos of the same company - and ALL SCAM ARTISTS! I almost placed an order with newconnection.com, but the guy was a high pressure, smooth talking new yorker - so I decided to check them out first at www.resellerratings.com. I'm so thankful that I did. Turns out that all these companies work out of the same location in Brooklyn, with different phone lines - and they are a bunch of crooks. Complaint after complaint after complaint. I'd be willing to bet that they never had this set... but they'd take your money and then claim it was "back-ordered" or some other BS.

If anyone sees a legit vendor with this model in stock, PLEASE post it here! Thanks!!

From what I can tell what was the 750 series plasma is the current 650 series plasma. Unless someone has better info everything is showing 650 as the highest model on my supply sheet for plasmas.

There is a 750 series for LCD but not plasma.

Your reply sounds like you're a Samung dealer. Are you?

If so, what is the largest screen size for a plasma that you are showing?

The original post of this thread refers to the PN63A750T - 63" Series 7 plasma which was shown at the CES show in January and referenced in Samsung's 1/6/08 press release.

Are they shipping ANY 63" plasmas? What are the model numbers? Is the older model (FP-T6374) still being shipped?

I just saw one of the new Samsung panels at Best Buy and I have to say I was impressed. The blacks were amazing to the point I thought the unit was off when the image went to black. The image just popped. Yeah I know I was under the Best Buy lights but the other units there including a Pio and a Panny paled in comparison in my quick visual test. Makes me wish I wated before I bought my 700u.

Edit: Damn, I'm thinking i was looking at an LCD. Not sure, though. I was with a person who thinks buying TVs is a 10-15 year experience and i was being rushed. Anyway, whatever I was looking at had me impressed. Must investigate.

Why aren't they on the Sammy website yet? I only see 550/650 plasmas, and nothing above a 58 inch.
