This has probably been answered in multiple places on the first page of threads, but right now there are just too many Panasonic threads floating around for me to search through. So, for making a separate thread to pose this question, I apologize. It's a simple question, at least. Are there any drawbacks to the 2008 Panasonics with respect to the 2007 Panasonics? I was expecting good prices this year, and they delivered, but were any corners cut in the process? Obviously, compare models to their respective generational counterparts (e.g. 700 vs 800).

So far, the 2008 Panasonic line-up has been fairly well received, I'd say. Blacks, and thus contrast-ratios, have been improved for 2008. But the improvements seem to be just an incremental step over the 2007 models, rather than a great leap. For more info, I'd suggest that you read the Owner's thread for the new models, depending on which model you are most interested in. There is just one owner's thread for the 720p PX80, one thread for the 1080p PZ80 and PZ85 models, and a new thread for the PZ800's that aren't quite out yet.
Also, FYI: technically, these 2008's are Panasonics 11G (11th generation) models - not "8G's".
