Are there any user/pro reviews on the new Sammy 550? I am in the market for a 58-65 inch and I know BB here is getting the 550 in the 58 inch, but I havent been able to find much info and/or reviews other than the Sammy website.
Anyone have an opinion on these sets? For comparison, I am also looking at the new Pannys and the '07/'08 Pioneers.
Thanks!

Yes, I just got one and like it. Out of the box it looks TERRIBLE and spent the whole weekend experimenting with different settings.
It's clear to be that it will have to be professionally calibrated to look its best.
I would LOVE to see settings of other users who own this new LCD tv...

I would LOVE to see settings of other users who own this new LCD tv...It looks like a plasma to me, but I guess some BB salespeople and people that go to your house would believe you that it is an lcd.... Op: They look almost as good IMO as the new pannys, but I would seriously consider them.

I bought the 50A550 on Friday at Best Buy and so far, so great. Fabulous picture right out of the box even on 480i upconverted. Granted I'm not that picky, but it looks stunning to me especially on OTA HiDef. 480i DISH is very watchable. Extremely happy with the set. It was not as bulky and heavy as I expected at 81 pounds and is very sleek. Sure beats the 36 CRT we replaced and we got 2 feet of our family room back. A bit off topic, but I did dip for the 4 yr EW, though I don't normally purchase EWs. Too new and expensive of technology for me to be comfortable without it. Although most of the few EWs I have purchased in the past have gone unused. A friend of mine bought an EW on a Toshiba CRT rear pro and is now getting a 42 Sammy plasma courtesy of Best Buy because they can no longer repair it. They had replaced one of his main boards 3 times. He raves about the service guy and the same guy services this whole area.
