I was watching WNYW here in NYC and you could have fooled me. I'm really wondering if that was HD and not the 480i widescreen, I then saw the highlights on ESPN HD and the Mets-Braves, Dodgers-Padres games looked terrible, picture was dull and fuzzy, background details were not clear and sharp. Only the White Sox-Tigers game looked remotely HD. I think we are being had here. If this is what is to come this season for supposed HD then I am embarrassed by Fox's effort. I was not impressed at all.

I noticed the same thing. I just got my HD tv not to long ago and I was all excited about watching baseball in HD and what I saw was not HD. I am going to try to write something to fox. That was b.s.

Their Nascar coverage looks way better in clarity and sharpness, very detailed. I don't get what they are doing that the picture looked so poor for MLB. At first I thought it was my local Fox, but then Nascar never looks that poor or the NFL games for that matter, when seeing the ESPN HD highlight clips it convinced me it was the Fox broadcast indeed. I have seen some people in other regions say it looked good to them. I just didn't see it. I don't know if they have issues with having to do 3 hd games at once or what but it was a poor first effort in 08.

Yea that Braves game definitely looked like widescreen SD (as is common with FOX MLB, though I understand they were trying to get away from this starting this season.) We'd probably have to solicit someone from FOX to figure out what happened.
FOX does a bad job on all the sports they cover

If that's true, I wonder why HDSportsguide.com lists that game as HD? (in fact they indicate all 3 Fox games are in HD today)

They've all looked like crap to me too
Looks pretty decent to me on FIOS here in LA, but I could say a lot less about the main commentator for the Braves/Dodgers game..
Even last year, the HD games from Fox on saturdays looked like crap.
Indians @ Twins looked fine today. WKBJ-DT FOX Detroit OTA.

Yes, just watching Indians/Twins on the DVR now. WJW-DT Cleveland, no subchannels. D* and OTA look pretty good for a Fox 720p game. Still some light grain in the dark backgrounds, but nowhere near as bad as I've seen from Fox and ESPN on some other night baseball games.
Of course our local RSN, STO, in glorious 1080i, is superior to this.
Watching on Panny 50" 1080p plasma.
Mets/Phillies on the bonus coverage had a few cameras that did not look very sharp.
