View Full Version : These people need some serious help
Cygnus311 04-06-08, 08:43 PM Look at the feedback for this guy...
His ebay name is gamer-score
People spending real money for him to get them gamerscore points. Found this looking for Dirt for 360 in case you were wondering.
DerekinMerrick 04-06-08, 08:49 PM OH MY GOD. What the hell am I going to college for. What losers to pay. Its bad enough people who care but I can kinda see that. Man thats crazy.
danieloneil01 04-06-08, 08:52 PM My time is worth more than 9.99/hour
FIVE ONE SIX 04-06-08, 10:35 PM call me crazy, but i find it near impossible to get 650/1000 achievement points in GH3 in 1 hour...
and i was cracking up when i went through his feedback, and there are multiple people that won like 2 or 3 or 4 auctions, talk about lame...
Meanwhile you spend the money to get "boosted" and then MS wipes away all your points for...Gamerscore tampering. LOL
lowenbotten 04-06-08, 11:26 PM What would possess people to pay for this? What's the point?

I'm not sure how they could track this. Basically, this guy is asking to recover your Gamertag on his Xbox 360. He's already got the games in hand, probably some saves too, where he'll recover your GT, log in, play, and be done. If anything, it's a risk of him getting your billing information.
Don't get me wrong here, it's completely against the MS rules of Xbox Live, but he's not modding anything.
Now, I wish they would just patch Rainbow Six Vegas 2 as that game is utter garbage the way they have the online set up. Good luck trying to play a game that isn't a room full of dumb ass boosters. I can't stand that game now. My benchmark is Call of Duty 4 for online. If the lobby isn't like that, and games aren't set up that way (no online achievements either!), then it's a no-buy for me. Rainbow 2 completely ruined the fun of that series. Elites 2 days after the game came out. Give me a break. Love seeing those bastards at the bottom of a match. They have ZERO skills!
Jumps down off my soapbox. :D

The only way you could have answered that question faster is to use a comma instead of a period. They'll track it because this moron is recovering a pile of Gamertags that clearly aren't his.
darklordjames 04-07-08, 09:32 AM "I'm not sure how they could track this."
It's very easy to track a Gamertag jumping from New York to France and back to New York in far less time that it takes to take a flight.
whiskey > work 04-07-08, 09:43 AM if this guy can make loot doing this, my dating service idea is sure to boom

Did you mean question mark instead of comma?
or

There must be a way they are tracking it cuz people are getting busted for it. (shrug)
My time is worth more than 9.99/hour
Think bigger. Hire the local kids at $5/hour. depending on demand, hourly gross is $5/hour times X. Several 360's needed but again, depending on demand very easy to set up.
Ever see the online gaming kiosks at the mall? there was a local counter strike gaming area with about 20 pc's where you could play for $8/hour. Full capacity is $160 per hour. OK so you won't get rich, but could still make 6 figures a year.
whiskey > work 04-13-08, 09:51 AM between electricity usage, the constant flow of doritos and gatorade, and axe body spray (no showers), you'd be lucky to break even. Oh and don't forget the depends underpants. You can't have the help running to the can every hour. Just drop and keep going
OK Whiskey, you've got a good point and I may be over the top with my estimations.
I have heard about this sort of thing before though. What's the PC game with a cult like following (don't mean to offend using that term)? World of war craft or something? I know that folks there were paying some big bucks for ranking points.
bdoyledimou 04-13-08, 06:06 PM What is the point of this? Gamer scores mean nothing except a personal goal tracker and a way to prove accomplishment.
Man people take this stuff way to seriously.

I agree whole heartily, but I must admit that some achievements have kept me playing a game longer than I would have normally. However, I didn't lose track of my life to obtain them or anything extreme like that.

That's not rich? You're either lying or elitist.

My friends and I use gamerscores to have legit bragging rights among our group. We don't give a rip for online comparison.
"Oh sweet, you already unlocked all the skulls in Halo 3!"

LOL:D
Almost like the legbagger multiple disc haters.
dbburns 04-15-08, 01:59 PM That's not rich? You're either lying or elitist.I was wondering the same thing. I know I am most likely on the lower end of income on here, so a six-fig salary sounds "rich" to me.
mproper 04-15-08, 02:08 PM I don't know if anyone watched this show on INHD or something awhile ago, but it was called Gamer Generation and had a segment with guy doing something similar.
He started running up people's avatars in World of Warcraft (or some similar game) and was making a killing. He started hiring people, and now he has a company in India that does it with people playing other people's avatars in shifts 24/7. People pay them X amount of money to get them up to a certain level.
They interviewed a couple customers, and they had a good point...they like the game but only can play for a couple hours a night, so they were willing to pay someone to put in the 100+ hours needed to do the mindless leveling up battles so they could advance further in the game. Not everyone has time to just sit around leveling up their characters for hours and hours and hours, so I thought it was genious at the time, and found the story interesting.
I'm not into any of these types of games though, so would never use a service like this anyways, and even if I was, I'd probably feel dirty afterwards, but I did understand where they were coming from.
Oh here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOo_meLVxeA)

If you make 6 figures I would guess that puts you richer than something like 99.98% of every person in the history of the world. It might sound crazy but I think I saw a statistic once where like the average US salary (which was something around $30k at the time) was more than 95% of the world makes. But with that being said, I'm as pro-capitalist as they come so more power to ya! :)

Virtually every person who uses those services has their account banned in World of Warcraft. They track IP addresses and if your profile signs on somewhere in the US and then signs on somewhere in Asia an hour later you get hit with the ban-stick.

Yeah, I don't know which game it is, and I didn't say people using them are geniouses (or that it's right or moral or cheating or anything else). But the guy running the business had a great idea (IMO). Everyone else is sitting around leveling up their characters for free, while he's getting rich with a company that plays the same game for other people. That's one of those "why didn't I think of that?" businesses.
