mx6bfast 04-07-08, 08:20 PM Go Tigers!!!!
WREG, Memphis, OTA, and they can't get rid of their subchannel for this game.
rebkell 04-07-08, 09:05 PM No HD in Chattanooga, is everybody getting it in HD?
Finally, they flipped the switch. :)
I am in Chattanooga and they just switched it over. I almost got furious.
thall85 04-07-08, 09:27 PM In HD here in Tulsa, OK. We are under a severe thunderstorm warning, but our local affiliate has figured out how to keep the picture in HD and show a PIP-type radar map. Kudos to KOTV.
tcreech 04-07-08, 09:49 PM TWC in NE Ohio.
HD feed froze up about 10 minutes ago...now they're showing the SD feed on HD channel.
drift1492 04-07-08, 09:51 PM Suddenlink, Lubbock Tx......
Really bad audio and video drop outs. First time I have ever experienced this on any HD channel over the past 2 years. Grrrreat
kevinivey 04-07-08, 10:00 PM terrible audio Wltx-DT, Columbia, SC. Center channel vocals in the rear speakers.
ChrisHman 04-07-08, 10:14 PM WGCL Comcast Atlanta with no subchannels. This game really looks great. Hardly any macroblocking, and amazingly there is no out of focus blur that has plagued CBS basketball since i can remember. This is the brief blur and resharpening that affects not only picture but graphics as well. If it has happened this game i haven’t seen it, and usually it happens every few minutes. Discussed here:

Kudos CBS.
Run4two 04-07-08, 10:39 PM Looks spectacular here on TWC KCBS Channel 2 in Los Angeles. Great game! Go Tigers! Go Jayhawks! Awww, who the hell am I fooling UCLA isn't here! Go Game!!!
thumperxr69 04-07-08, 10:50 PM Several CBS BB games I noticed the rear channel speakers you can hear the definite sound of the net or the rim. During the Final Four games I don't hear this at all.
Anyone else remember this???
T
nikeykid 04-07-08, 11:32 PM wow! OT! what a game!
disappointed memphis couldn't end it in regulation, their poor free throw shooting killed them
branedamag 04-08-08, 12:12 AM Would have been better if they matched the cameras a little better. One huge hit on TWC in Cincinnati. The blur and resharpening referenced above by ChrisHman happened here coming out of virtually every break.

I watched the game, and thought that the picture and sound quality were great. However, I had to watch the entire game with a jerky, slow moving picture.:mad::mad: A reset signal sent to the box did nothing to fix it and power cycling my box did nothing to fix the problem. This problem is still ongoing right now in the post-game show.
Aside from that, all the games on CBS were great quality in terms of picture and sound.
Game looked great on WWJ via Comcast in Detroit. Great game and top notch work by CBS tonight and throughout the tournament.
One Shining Moment is one of the classiest traditions in all of sports broadcasting. Kudos to CBS for broadcasting it bug free.
bongohawk 04-08-08, 12:26 AM Rock Chalk Jayhawk....KU Is #1
Our CBS Aff went into SD during the post game...one Shining Moment in One crappy SD moment...Oops!
rustycruiser 04-08-08, 12:40 AM I am gonna go ahead and predict low ratings, even though it was a good comeback to go to OT. Not much buzz before the game.
mx6bfast 04-08-08, 07:44 AM Disappointed that Memphis couldn't win the game. But I'm still proud of them. Hopefully CDR and Rose will come back next year for revenge. (Doubtful)
sirjonsnow 04-08-08, 08:14 AM Quality was just okay here, could see noise in the picture. Some of the tournament games before this were better, some worse.
Here is and idea. In order to compete in high school and college dunk contests, you must first qualify by having a minimum free thrown shooting percentage of 75%. Set a standard and stick with it. Games aren’t won or lost on dunks, but many are when it comes to free throw shooting. If these kids put as much time in practicing free throws as they do practicing dunks in order to make SportsCenter, they would be much better all around players than they are now and it just might help win a championship. Coaches at all levels need to step up and take some responsibility in this area as well.
CBS typically does a good job covering the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, and this year they did very well. Some of Packer's observations are pointless, and some are head-scratchers, but I credit him for observing in the semi-finals what would prove to be pivotal in the finals: Memphis at the free-throw line had serious issues. They paid too little attention to free-throws during the season, but proved they could sink them during the tournament...but not under pressure. When the pressure finally came, the free-throws stopped falling. No overstatement to claim that was key in their demise.
When Rose hit that bank-shot at the shot-clock expiration (ruled a 3 at first, then reviewed and properly judged a 2), it looked like Memphis might have destiny on their side. But the Jayhawks never surrendered, and performed the best at crunch-time. Congratulations, Kansas!
ChiefIllinifan 04-08-08, 11:00 AM Packer's point about Memphis' free throw shooting had been made by many, many other people all throughout the season. It was brought up by the commentators during the Memphis-Tennessee game ad nauseum.
I was rooting for Kansas for a couple of reasons. First, Self built the Illini team that went to the Finals in 2005 and my son and I went to a couple of his camps when he was still at Illinois. Second, the same son and I saw Mario Chalmers and his high school team lose the Alaska State Championship on a last second shot back in 2004. We've watched him his entire collegiate career and it was great to see someone from the Last Frontier hit the big shot.
E-A-G-L-E-S 04-08-08, 11:03 AM Ratings down 14% from 9.3 to 8.0.
Game looked superb here, D*, Pioneer 1150HD, Allentown, PA.
Great game and the better 'overall basketball team' won. And so did my wallet :)
I'm sure CBS was hating that they did not get UNC in the Final Game as ratings would have been better.
E-A-G-L-E-S 04-08-08, 11:54 AM Well, the Final Four numbers were low as well.
Not sure if the fact that both games seemed to be one sided.(although anyone that watched saw a huge comeback from UNC, even though they came up short)
kingofguac 04-09-08, 02:21 PM Charter Cable, Trumbull (CT).
The 1080i picture was great all game, but Dolby 5.1 dropped out about 3 mins into the 2nd half. Upside was that we didn't have to hear the commentators (no center channel). Did 5.1 drop out for anyone else after halftime?
