As noted in another thread, ESPN HD is missing from TWC in Lincoln, NE this afternoon (at least via cablecard devices -- both a TiVo and a Sony TV). So no Par 3 contest here.

Looks absolutely awesome. Watching on Comcast in Detroit.

Masters content that is once again reference grade HD.

It's so nice to see a sporting event without all sorts of graphics cluttering the screen. I'd almost forgotten that that's the way it used to be.

I wonder if it will look this good on CBS this weekend. From what I understand, the Masters has very strict control over the production in regard to quality, so it should look great.

This was hands down the best HD content I have ever seen! I sat for two hours with my jaw on the floor, it is almost like looking out a window and seeing Augusta right there.

Everything was done through CBS trucks. The graphics you see are the same for both networks, just the ESPN logos turn into CBS logos. As good as it looks on TV, it's pretty amazing in person. This is my first time at the Masters, I've done a lot of golf shows here in the US and in Europe and I've never seen a course look this amazing.

Can anyone comment if ESPN had their bug on the screen during the broadcast?

Up here in canada, it looked great, but TSNHD of course jacked it and stuck their awful bug in the corner. :/

No bug here in the US. Complete clean screen broadcast, the way it should be.

figured as much...

Cant recall the last time a broadcast in Canada didnt have a stupid bug in either of the corners. :/

The people who run the Masters have been very demanding of the broadcasts:

only four (4) minutes of commercials per hour

no graphic pop-ups

no promos of other CBS shows

they can only use certain descriptive references ("patrons" instead of "gallery", "first cut" instead of "rough", etc.)

there are probably lots more that I don't remember offhand...

They may allow the bug.

Actually the rough is the second cut.

They also prefer the instead of front and back nine, First and second nine when referring to the course.

None of the US domestic broadcasters use a bug.
