I've had my Sony KD-34XBR970 for about a year now I guess (Since CC blew them out)...I've been using the digital output from my cable box for the most part...And only using the TV digital coax out all other times.

Well, the other day I hooked up the analog audio out from the tv (since it doesn't output SD analog stations via coax). The audio output was VERY distorted. Volume didn't make a big difference...Variable or fixed output levels didn't help either.

I've tried searching the AVS forums and google...And can't seem to find any information on this issue.

Anyone else have this problem? Since it's still under warranty would this be covered? Like I said, digital is fine...analog audio is distorted. The interal speakers (I usually leave off) sound OK.

Thanks!

Not a common problem that I've seen posted here. But it sounds like a TV defect. Get it checked while you're still under warranty. Just to be sure, do you have another set of inputs on your AV Receiver that you try, or a different AV Receiver or VCR/DVD Recorder that you can connect those outputs to?

Just got back in town...Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I tried multiple inputs...and even a different receiver and it still distorts. Is the warranty an in-home warranty? I don't feel like lugging it off anywhere!

I plan to find out myself. I have a video problem. You have to go to the Sony web
site listed in your T V's operating manual. You will need the purchase date,
model & serial number. I believe only our parts are under warranty, not labor.
So, we should probably expect our wallets to get a little thinner.
