Does anyone know if I can wire the speaker bar on the Pioneer PDP-5070 as the center speaker for a 5.1 system? I know it has two seperate speakers, can they be wired together? I'll be running an Onkyo 805 too.

If not, does the center speaker have to be in-line with the TV? If I install a center speaker in the room it will be about 2' above and to the left of the TV. Will that throw the the sound off?

you don't want the center channel installed like that (off to the side etc)
you want it as close to the middle of the image as possible. If its off and to the side you will hear voices that to your eyes will not come out of the actors on screen.

I would not use the tv speaker as a center, i'd go without if it comes down to it, spend more on the right and left instead (provided you sit centered with the speakers and image)
