I've been playing around with Linuxmce for that past couple of days and I'm having issues playing DVDs from a ripped ISO. I ripped the DVD under Linuxmce and it stored it as a .dvd file. When I try and play it, all I get is a black screen. It is an encrypted DVD and I do have libdvdcss installed. It does list the chapters in the menu, so I would think the rip is ok. I really want to keep the DVD as an ISO so I get the DVD menus.

I wasted a month of my time on Linux MCE and never got it to do more than show the Flickr screensaver and browse through my photos using a very clunky browser interface.

It looks like it could be a good product - in another year or two.

I share your frustration. I decided to use MythTv. It seems to work significantly better and does everything I need it to.
