I have a wrt54g and a 4 college guys(including myself all using wireless) living under a cable internet connection. My problem is, when my buddy is on WoW and I try viewing a Youtube video it drops his bandwith and it acts like mine has full priority. QoS is disabled and I don't believe it is the solution. Is there a way to evenly distribute the badnwidth between any connected computers? I am open to suggestions including open source.

Best thing you can do is plug your buddy into the Ethernet port. That should fix a great deal of your problems. You are ALL sharing the wireless bandwidth which is NOT a good thing. WOW is a greater bandwidth hog than streaming video but you really need to keep the simple stuff wireless and the rest on the wire.

Wireless is the only realistic way for them to have internet.(cables cannot be run or mobility is desired) I know wireless has a higher throughput limit than an internet connection could saturate so it doesn't make sense the wireless is limiting it, aside from firmware based distribution
