Hi Folks,

I'm really not sure this is the correct place for this,so please be gentle.

For the last 2 or 3 years I've had an XFX GeForce 7600GT graphics card connected via s-video,plus audio leads,to my DVD recorder (Pioneer DVR-LX60D) & then on to my TV via scart in order to watch TV-out (mainly .avi & .mpeg) from the PC.

This has always functioned absolutely beautifully, with the TV showing 99% of formats in the correct proportions, without any obvious distortion, and without me having to use anything other than 16:9 setting on the TV.

However, the Graphics card has developed an intermittent fault recently, and I've ahem....'invested' in an XFX 8800GT.

Sooo,I installed the recommended/correct xp drivers, reconnected the s-video lead, set up TV out in the Nvidia control panel, which all seemed to go just fine,TV detected etc.,& rebooted.

Needless to say,I no longer get ANY video outputting to the DVD/TV in dual mode, and after 3 or 4 days of utter frustration,I've been asked to find out,by the card manufacturers (and the guys at bjorn3d.com) the exact resolution of the TV....the only options I can see are:-

1024x768 Pixels(Default which worked previously)
960x600
800x600

60Hz also appears to be the only refresh rate available.

None of the above work with the 8800GT

All I know is that it's a non HD 28" widescreen 100Hz CRT being used in a PAL(UK) area, goodness only knows what the resolution of the set may be.

D'you reckon this is relevant,or are they just trying to put off the inevitable day when they have to tell me the recent Nvidia cards simply don't support SDTV sets any more, especially as there were no display issues whatsoever with my previous card.

Many thanks to any hardy souls who managed to read all of this.
