Any tips on how to clean the inside of the Sixaxis? I can handle taking the thing apart, as I already have twice, but what type of liquid/solution should I use to clean the inside? Compressed air maybe?
My problem is a messed up right analog. Sometimes when back at the center position my right analog still reads that it is being pushed slightly one way. Guess you could kind of say it is sticking. For example, if I play COD4 there are times when I would run straight with the left analog not touching the right analog at all but my character would go in a slightly different direction (not straight) to the left or right.
Any thoughts or tips? Or is the Sixaxis just prone to break easily?
A full day and not one suggestion? Thought I would at least get a "just throw it in the trash."

This for the 360 controller, but might be some tips in there, like contact cleaner.

I think the Sixaxis is a piece of junk... better off replacing it with a DS3. Keep in mind I am saying that and I don't even like rumble.
Hey, here's a link to another thread in here that I started...last week, I think. Or was it this week? Damn, I need to take better notice of things. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1019772
Anyway...Hey, wait a minute! Just noticed that you posted in my thread with advice! Guess it wasn't good advice??? :p Did you check out rwt2006's video link? It's a pretty good one. I guess your question is what you should clean it with, though. I still haven't risked opening mine, yet. I went to Best Buy to buy a rumbler, but they were all out. So maybe today I'll get out my screwdriver set and see what kind of damage I can do. I'm hoping once I remove all the dust and gunk, the stick won't stick anymore.

In my experience with many different brands of analog sticks over the years, analog switches that start doing what you're describing are smoked. The tiny metal contacts inside the swtichbox wear out, and you get multiple positions being activated at once resulting in "jerkiness" or "pulling". It all comes down to the quality of metal used in the switch. Yeah, you can play with cleaning the contacts and regreasing it, but it's just stalling the inevitable replacement.

That's kinda what I was thinking.
Hey Kess my advice was good in your thread. :D I can take it apart now problem but once I do I don't know what to do. I didn't really find any dirt in there that was causing it to stick. I'm thinking what WJonathan said above is probably my case. Damn $50 down the drain. I have NES controllers that have gone through walls that hold up better than this new stuff. :D:o
