I did a quick couple searches on this topic and came up with nothing. Forgive me if someone has already posted a good solution for this issue.

I have a Harmony 1000 with the RF extender. This combo has worked out very well for me and I almost have my setup working perfectly. The problem is on a few of the components the little IR blasters have started coming off. They have lost their “stick” so to speak. I’ve had to send back the 360 twice for the RROD so it’s IR blaster has NO stick left at all. I’m trying to figure out a good way to get these little guys to stick back onto the components without looking like h*ll. All I can come up with is electrical tape.

Has anyone else run into this? Does logitech sell something to fix this?

Try some clear double-sided tape.

mraub,

Thanks for the reply. But I don't think that would quite work. The adhesive that comes on the blasters is REALLY strong. Some of them are still on and would really have to be pulled hard to come off. The double sided tape that we have my gf used to wrap Xmas presents. I don't think it would keep them on for very long. I can give it a shot though.

I was hoping for something that would not really alter the look and feel of the original blasters. Trying to avoid a bunch of tape on the gear if you know what I mean.

Thanks though!

Use a hot glue gun. It works great. You can buy one at most stores for only a few dollars. Just remove the old adhesive and put a little dab of hot glue on the emitter and stick it on. I've done it on a couple of mine that lost their stick and will continue to do it as I replace components.

I have some packets of clear double sided sticky plastic made by Scotch. I don't remember the name but I have them at home and will check if I can remember.

Or, what I have been doing lately is to simply place them near the equipment. They don't need to be directly attached.

They are called Scotch Clear Mounting Squares; made by 3M.
"Ideal for papers, photos and other lightweight items!"

I seem to recall getting them via Amazon but they might be in your local Office supply store.

I second the hot glue, that is the only thing I use. It easy to stick, easy to clean, gets tacky very fast. The hardest part is that I use those micro emitters and sometimes the glob of hot glue is bigger than the emitter.
