Didn't really get into the first saints row for some reason. I can only take one sandbox game like this a year really, and even GTA4 i will try before I buy. They get to repetitive to have two of them.

There is so m any different things you can do in GTA4. You dont have to complete the same missions (Which i can see get repetitive) this year they have multiplayer and just the fact you can roam do as you please. Thats what a sandbox game is all about.

Saint Row 2 ? GTA4 Killer?
Critcally or commercially? Impossible.

In storyline, writing, or pure style? Highly doubt it.

In multiplayer? Possible but GTA4 multiplayer looks pretty great.


I'm sure it'll do some things better and be fun for some general sandbox messing around but it's no killer.

I'm not entirely sure how a game coming out in August is supposed to "kill" a game coming out in less than 2 weeks.

Saints Row was pretty good (I'm playing it again right now), but I don't think by any means that Saints Row 2 will be a GTAIV killer. No....no...oh no..nope.

Saint's Row 2 vs. GTAIV Thriller

Saints Row Insurance Fraud was pretty fun for a short while. Getting a nice combo of bouncing off 6+ cars on the interstate was pure comedy. Maybe that inspired the creation of PAIN?

San Andreas had planes and boats- I don't know why GTA4 wouldn't. I know there are helicopters.

One of my favorite things to do in San Andreas was take the jumbo jet out for a cruise and set the radio to The Dust. Good times.

Both games will be appreciated for what it is.

GTAIV is guaranteed to be a hit. After all the original, 2, 3, and San Andreas before it was. The series has now been moved onto HD consoles whichs should greatly improve graphics, physics, gameplay and include online play for the first time ever.

Saints Row was a hit from the start. It took everything GTA did.. and made it better. But it was still lacking the soul of GTA. Saints Row 2 will do exactly the same. Take everything in GTAIV and better it. But it will never be a replacement for GTAIV.

Both are the same genre, same plot. But will always feel completely different.


Its like trying to compare Sonic and Mario.

I've never understood the need to pit things against each other, as if there was only one alternative.

Well, it's been said that there are no airplanes in this next GTA, but helicopters and boats have been seen in previews.

Maybe the sandbox feel is somewhat similar, but the GTAIV for originality... If anything the story will be great!

That looks like a lot of fun. I tried out the first but didn't really get sucked into it but the physics kicked ass for explotions and stuff..
