i'm guessing this this is a result of the 1080i bug that the PS3 can't display. 720p works fine. its a shame that my original XBox can upconvert every game to 1080i, but the PS3 can't. is sony ever gonna fix this?

What TV are you connecting to and what game are you trying to play?

its connected to a Gateway monitor and it supports every resolution up to 1080i. it is connected using component video. i was watching a Planet Earth Blu-Ray fine at 1080i. then i decide to play NBA Live 08 and i get the sound, but a black screen. i lower the setting to 720p and i can play it. my firmware is version 2.20.
