Has anybody tried to return a CECB unit to the store? I curious if you are out the $40, get store credit, or they somehow re-enable your coupon.

I was thinking about picking up the Zenith, but hear so many on the forums complaining of audio problems with Dolby 5.1 that I'm hesssitant to make the jump. Especially if I want to return the unit.

Please share your experience if you have returned a unit.

The easiest way is to pay cash. Go home and test the unit. If you like it, return and rebuy with the coupon.

The coupon value cannot be refunded in any way. The agent is well aware of this issue and they even printed that in the letter sent with the coupons now.

This sounds like the best solution, I would assume if the box was defective it could be exchanged but just not returned(getting your coupon back that is).

Same thing happens when you buy something with a mail in rebate. Once you cut the UPC code off the box and mail in the receipt you can not return it. However with mail in rebates at least you get to try the unit out for a day or two before you send in the mail in rebate.
