Hey Folks!

After everything I'd read about the popcorn hour here on the forums, I put myself on the waiting list... and finally just had it arrive today.

I've now spent the past few hours playing with it. I don't seem to have any problems with pulling DVD rips from my Infrant NV+ using NFS and UPNP AV (I have my movies ripped in normal, uncompressed Video_TS folders (with .VOB and .IFO files))

But popcorn hour doesn't seem to want to play the DVD menus. I assume that it's just not recognizing or somehow seeing the .IFO files?

I've tried to convert one of the folders to an .ISO file... but popcorn hour just seems to open the .ISO to display the titles which can be played... nothing that would indicate how I should be doing things to see the DVD Menus.

Everything works just fine when I run "My Movies" on my PC (which is how these discs were ripped - with Slysoft's AnyDVD running to remove encryption).

Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using UPnP or NFS? There is no way you can use UPnP over NFS and the like... From the PCH, create a SMB or NFS connection to the folder containing the ISO and DVD files and it will work. Using UPnP will only allow what UPnP can support and that excludes parsing dvd menus...

Thanks for the advice. I found an article about setting a NFS (instead of SMB) connection in the popcorn hour menu over at the MPC Club site. Everything seems to be working perfectly now!

I still believe you was trying to make it work using UPnP :-)

Well, I still can't play EITHER IFO or ISO off SMB.

I've setup both NFS and SMB shares and have been able to play ISO and VIDEO_TS/ripped dvd's from both types of shares. It can be tricky sometimes setting up that SMB share, (If its a windows box, make sure the Guest account has the "Access this computer from the network" rights, Guest account not disabled, Guest account has rights to the share and to the folder files, etc, etc...)

Well, I still can't play EITHER IFO or ISO off SMB.
