Seems like a complete noob is finally understanding HDMI to say the least...
Have a 2006 720p Sammy Plasma, model HP-S5033. In the specs it APPEARS it's not HDCP. I also have a 1080p mit HC4900 PJ as a 2nd display device. Then I have the sat box, PS3 and upconverting DVD. I have all hdmi cables already running through my walls. Currently, I have a monoprice MANUAL 2x1 HDMI switcher, it's a real pain having to not hit the button, but unplug let's say the plamsa and PS3, and plug in the PJ and DVD.
I have bought THREE 4x2 monoprice switcher/splitters and one 4x1 monoprice switcher. Works fine with the PJ which I assume is HDCP compatible. However, my sammy says "mode not supported" regardess of mode (eg 480, 720i/p). Looks like I may of found out why, again the sammy doesn't apparently support HDCP. Is there any possible solution anyone sees? What gets me is that the sammy will accept a manual switcher but no powered switcher. Maybe I'm wrong altogether and it's the equilizer that's causing the problem? Please help, lol
