I just bought a new SONY DVD player today. I set it up and when I closed the door to my home entertainment system, I was disappointed to see that the IR sensor is blocked by the wood trim on the glass door of the cabinet.

Is there an inexpensive IR receiver that I can place in a more accessible spot and have it redirect the signal to the DVD player's sensor?

If not, the I have to keep the cabinet door open whenever I use the DVD player. A bit of a drag.

Thanks,
FV

Yes, there is
Next Generation make a RF to IR blaster with a IR emitter (or you can use the front blaster)
X-10 make one too, but it's IR to RF. (you have to point one pyradmid IR to the other pyramid RF)

Next Generation remote extender.

Hope this help,
Gui.

I found an RCA brand IR cone at Walmart one time that worked really well. I think it was $50.00. Tried to find one on line with no luck.
