I just got my first digital media player, the PopcorhHour A-100 (PH) and was able to set it up with a 500gig Seagate HDD. The device is pretty nice, however I get huge amounts of static through my stereo system. I have it connected to Yamaha Rx-V1600 through HDMI and they are both plugged in a PanaMax MAX5100 power conditioner. The interference is the worst during power on when the hard disk spins, but also when it comes out of standby/sleep and spins up again. The "spinup" interference/static is amplified through the speakers although they are magnetically shielded. I can also hear the HDD noises as it reads and writes files off it. I tired all kinds of various power connections but no luck. The problem is still there when other than HDMI connection is used.
Has anyone else had similar problems and come across a solution to this annoying problem? What I am most perplexed about is if I am the only one with this problem and how come other people who run internal hdds don't have this problem
Thanks
