A friend asked me about this Samsung Plasma he had seen at BB-Magnolia. I told him I would check on the AVS Forum to get some info, but my searches are coming up blank. Is this a new model (I have not been following Plasma much lately). What about the wireless capability. Hew was told all he had to do was plug it into an AC outlet and the 'equipment??' could be in another room.

Is this supposed to do HDMI level video via a wireless connection? From what devices? - sat receiver?, cable box?, Blue-Ray player? That seems like a stretch to me.

The only connection on the tv is for the power cord. It comes with a receiver/box you plug on your sources into and that box transmits the video signal wireless to the TV via a 2.4ghz signal similar to a wireless router. Other than that I'm fairly certain the TV is identical in PQ/features to the 5084 and 5884, and no this isn't really a new model.

Yes it will transmit 1080p video wirelessly. I have read about several people having problems w/ lag in the transmission though causing sync issues w/ video & audio. I'm thinking these will be discontinued by Samsung soon enough due to those issues. I would wait for their 2nd gen wireless tv's.

OK, cool. Thanks for the input. I will read up on the other models you mentioned.

Yes this is a tv BB-Magnolia sells, they aren't that great, if you have anything else that operates in that spectrum, wireless router, cordless phone, they cause interference lines on the tv, then there is the lag problem, in the Magnolia showroom its always a few seconds behind, all the time, sometimes the audio matches, sometimes it doesn't, its not worth the money, just spend the cash for a long hdmi cable and a regular set and you'll be much happier.:)
