Currently I have an HDMI cable running straight from my Sci Atl 8300HD box to my Sammy 4661. If I connect the cable to an HDMI wall plate, run a second cable up through the wall into another wall plate and then from there, a third cable to the TV, thereby introducing 2 connections between 3 cables, should I expect the signal and thus PQ to be degraded? I suppose, because it is digital, that there shouldn't be any issues but I wanted to hear what the experts thought.
should I expect the signal and thus PQ to be degraded?Generally no. But connections are the Achilles' heel of cabling and the longer your cables the more likely the connections could introduce problems. If you use good quality connectors with gold-plated contacts it will improve your odds.

Thanks for the response. I was going to go with the HDMI wall plate with 2 connectors from monoprice. it has good reviews and monoprice seems to be well respected around here.

If you do a little digging here you should find a thread (maybe two) where somebody did some comparisons/testing with wall plates. Not all wall plates are equal. :)
Here's a start, the thread title wasn't obvious: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=832382
