I am in the process of ripping DVDs to VOBs using a dvd changer. The process is going well, though not as automated as I would like, sigh :) To achieve some level of automation though I have a powershell script that mounts a dvd in the changer, lets AnyDVD do its thing and then copies the DVD down to a folder. I would like the be able to reprocess these rips to remove some of the content after the fact, especially the FBI warning and previews that come up before the main menu. Does anyone know of a tool for this - preferably one that can be easily automated so it can iterate over all the rips?

DVD Shrink seems to be able to reauthor rips, but I do not know enough about the DVD structure to get it to remove the bits I want to cut and keep the rest. That and it is not easy to automate.

Thanks!

Oh would this question be better asked in the HTPC section?

The method to remove the pieces you don't want varies slightly depending on their location. When using CloneDVD2 with anydvd, sometimes you can just de-select the pieces. However, when the pieces are more throughly entrenched in the DVD structure, you will have to manually locate them and remove them with a tool like vobblanker. I can't imagine that this process could be effectively automated.

I use DVD shrink to get rid of all the extra CRAP that comes on nearly every DVD. It's not something you can automate. You need to pick out the main feature yourself and which audio track you want. I rip them while I'm working to ISO files. XBMC, either on an original XBOX or on a HTPC running Lynix is in my future.
