The difference is that this one has significantly fewer episodes on it, meaning a LOT less content, and yet they're still charging the same amount. They need to scale it the hell back to compensate for the lack of content.

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line, Buena Vista decides to split a season series that was originally offered as a complete season package for the first few seasons into two halves (e.g., S5 part 1/S5 part 2) and sell each half-season package for $60 (or more). It's been done before (not necessarily by BV) w/ other TV series--Lost in Space and Spongebob Squarepants are two examples... :rolleyes:

I got season three from Amazon for less than $40 shipped as a gold box deal. I won't get season four until it is nicely discounted as well.

That is correct--after returning post-strike, they completed episodes nine, ten, eleven and twelve. (Episode twelve being a three hour finale.) So we get a total of fourteen hours over twelve episodes this season, and nothing more until late January 2009.

The presses are too busy with gems like National Treasure and National Treasure 2. Not to mention Hannah Montanna and the High School Musical Pentalogy. So those won't be out until 09. And I still haven't watched S1 and S2.

BTW- Why isn't anyone discussing Grey's Anatomy? Am I the only person that completely hates the Lexi character? And who else is sick of Heigl crying in every damn episode?-grow a pair. They really butchered season 4.

a 90 minute movie and a 160 movie also don't list for $100!! and they use the same number of discs, those 2-discs or more special collector editions do cost more.

Really a 3-hour finale. There are now 15 hour-long episodes this season, with the "finale" being a 3-parter. This press release was obviously written before ABC made the decision to let the Lost crew do another hour as they had requested.

I enjoyed series 1,2, and 3 of Lost immensely...In fact it's my favorite television show at the moment and i didn't think there was any filler at all....I couldn't get enough of the characters and enjoyed every last minute but then i am a fan of it all.

Well, there was only going to be 16 episodes anyways for the next 3 seasons each.

Cant wait for Lost either... the only show that I watched 2 to 4 times and there is something new every time I watch it... It appeals to a wide spectrum of people, from casual viewers to hardcore followers.

I think it's awesome a new season of Lost was finally announceed for BD release - whether it be S1, S2 or S4!

HDDigest says the SRP of lost is 60 bucks. Interesting there are the two diff figures.

I think it for sure shouldn't be priced the same as the last 3 seasons since it is what, 8-10 episodes shorter.

I learned my lesson with season 3 (got the dvd set only to see the bluray priced the same a month and changed later at amazon) and will wait for season 4 blu-ray to be dropped to the same price at amazon as the dvd will be.

Got my S4 Blu-ray today...and just as I expected, Disney changed the outer box. Gone is the nice hard cardboard style case with velcro and instead we get a simple slipcase. Sigh. Getting tired of the studios changing the way the slip cases look compared to other sets/movies (POTC, Smallville, Saw films etc.)

I've had Lost S4 for a week now (region b got it a while ago). Much like S3, it has outstanding PQ and a very strong PCM sound track.

I thought Season 3 was top quality PQ except for a few of the scenes in the first 3 or so episodes where Jack was locked up. For those who have it, how do you think it compares?

I really like the season play that they had for the Lost season 3 set. This time around the season play remembers the episode position correctly but it does not store the preferred audio settings. So I have to set it for uncompressed PCM before clicking season play.

Anyone else have this problem? I am using a Panasonic BD50K.

Have you noticed the audio muting the first few seconds of each episode starting from the disc menu? It ususally cuts out "Previously on Lost". It happens to me on every disc but when I rewind it works right. I didn't have this problem with Season 3 at all. I have the Panasonic BD 50 with a Denon 987 on my main system but I also have two other systems and it does it on all of them. I even switched out the discs and it did the same thing so it has to be the discs.

I have two hooked up to receive PCM via HDMI, Denon 987 with Panasonic BD50 and a Yamaha 661 with the Sony BD-S1. I also have Samsung's first Bluray hooked up via optical cable with regular DD with a HTIB and ALL Of them mute the first two seconds on each disc. Again, I had no problem at all with Season 3 on any of these.

I was wrong about disc 4. Seems it only kept the audio settings because I did not turn the player off last night. When I resumed season play a few minutes ago I had to go back and change it to uncompressed audio. Same thing for the mute problem.

I hope this can be fixed preferably with a firmware update and if that isn't a viable solution disney home video could send replacements if the fault is on their end.
