View Full Version : LOST Season 4 Dec.9 & Grey's Anatomy Season 4 Sep.9 Lance_G 04-25-08, 04:55 PM per www.thedigitalbits.com:) eightninesuited 04-25-08, 05:04 PM What a ripoff! $100 for a measly 14 episodes! No thanks. I'll buy it used. opterasis 04-25-08, 05:04 PM Deffinately picking up Lost season 4. I wish they'd go back and put seasons 1 and 2 on BD. TheCrackedJack 04-25-08, 05:17 PM What a ripoff! $100 for a measly 14 episodes! No thanks. I'll buy it used. LOL, what rock where you under when S3 of Lost was announced for BD? It's no different this time around, and you can get a brand new copy of that at Amazon for $63. Jedi2016 04-25-08, 05:35 PM LOL, what rock where you under when S3 of Lost was announced for BD? It's no different this time around, and you can get a brand new copy of that at Amazon for $63. The difference is that this one has significantly fewer episodes on it, meaning a LOT less content, and yet they're still charging the same amount. They need to scale it the hell back to compensate for the lack of content. eightninesuited 04-25-08, 05:35 PM LOL, what rock where you under when S3 of Lost was announced for BD? It's no different this time around, and you can get a brand new copy of that at Amazon for $63. That's not the point. I have S3, and with S4 you're getting nearly 1/2 as much content for the same price. shadowrage 04-25-08, 05:37 PM After last nights episode. I'm so going to pick up Lost. What was that little black thing that Ben had? Aren't the seasons only 14eps now? It's an even better deal since there aren't any filler episodes. toneman 04-25-08, 05:41 PM What a ripoff! $100 for a measly 14 episodes! No thanks. I'll buy it used. I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line, Buena Vista decides to split a season series that was originally offered as a complete season package for the first few seasons into two halves (e.g., S5 part 1/S5 part 2) and sell each half-season package for $60 (or more). It's been done before (not necessarily by BV) w/ other TV series--Lost in Space and Spongebob Squarepants are two examples... TheCrackedJack 04-25-08, 05:44 PM That's not the point. I have S3, and with S4 you're getting nearly 1/2 as much content for the same price. 90 minute movies don't cost half the price of 3+ hour movies, 30 minute CD albums don't cost half of 60 minute albums. Why would this be different? I'm not defending it, but I fail to see why this would be unexpected or surprising to some. giantchicken 04-25-08, 06:03 PM I got season three from Amazon for less than $40 shipped as a gold box deal. I won't get season four until it is nicely discounted as well. FoxyMulder 04-25-08, 07:41 PM I look forward each year to buying Lost....Is it just 14 episodes this year and no more being made until next year ? Dave Mack 04-26-08, 12:07 AM what about S1 and S 2...?!?!? giantchicken 04-26-08, 12:12 AM I look forward each year to buying Lost....Is it just 14 episodes this year and no more being made until next year ? That is correct--after returning post-strike, they completed episodes nine, ten, eleven and twelve. (Episode twelve being a three hour finale.) So we get a total of fourteen hours over twelve episodes this season, and nothing more until late January 2009. shadowrage 04-26-08, 12:14 AM I look forward each year to buying Lost....Is it just 14 episodes this year and no more being made until next year ? Yeah. It ends in 2010. only 39(37?) episodes left in the series. I like it more because S3 had way too much filler. Heroes S1 was nothing but filler so was the abbreviated Heroes S2. Lost and BSG know what they're doing. what about S1 and S 2...?!?!? The presses are too busy with gems like National Treasure and National Treasure 2. Not to mention Hannah Montanna and the High School Musical Pentalogy. So those won't be out until 09. And I still haven't watched S1 and S2. BTW- Why isn't anyone discussing Grey's Anatomy? Am I the only person that completely hates the Lexi character? And who else is sick of Heigl crying in every damn episode?-grow a pair. They really butchered season 4. skibum5000 04-26-08, 02:51 AM LOL, what rock where you under when S3 of Lost was announced for BD? It's no different this time around, and you can get a brand new copy of that at Amazon for $63. the rock where S3 had a lot mor ethan 14 epsidoes rock :D anyway what about S1 and S2!! S1 I don't even have most it recorded in OTA HD skibum5000 04-26-08, 02:52 AM After last nights episode. I'm so going to pick up Lost. What was that little black thing that Ben had? Aren't the seasons only 14eps now? It's an even better deal since there aren't any filler episodes. It the thing that made you think the same price for half the epsidoes is a better deal thing :D skibum5000 04-26-08, 02:54 AM 90 minute movies don't cost half the price of 3+ hour movies, 30 minute CD albums don't cost half of 60 minute albums. Why would this be different? I'm not defending it, but I fail to see why this would be unexpected or surprising to some. a 90 minute movie and a 160 movie also don't list for $100!! and they use the same number of discs, those 2-discs or more special collector editions do cost more. half the episodes, half the price. skibum5000 04-26-08, 03:02 AM Yeah. At times lost was but still not too badly so. i'd rather have her sans pair myself.... skibum5000 04-26-08, 01:32 PM That is correct--after returning post-strike, they completed episodes nine, ten, eleven and twelve. (Episode twelve being a three hour finale.) So we get a total of fourteen hours over twelve episodes this season, and nothing more until late January 2009. is it really going to be a three hour finale or a 1 or 2 hour finale with 2 or 1 hours of utter filler review spliced together and called a 'new' episode as ABC is wont to do? Neo_Reloaded 04-26-08, 02:17 PM is it really going to be a three hour finale or a 1 or 2 hour finale with 2 or 1 hours of utter filler review spliced together and called a 'new' episode as ABC is wont to do? Really a 3-hour finale. There are now 15 hour-long episodes this season, with the "finale" being a 3-parter. This press release was obviously written before ABC made the decision to let the Lost crew do another hour as they had requested. FoxyMulder 04-26-08, 02:31 PM I enjoyed series 1,2, and 3 of Lost immensely...In fact it's my favorite television show at the moment and i didn't think there was any filler at all....I couldn't get enough of the characters and enjoyed every last minute but then i am a fan of it all. Bit disappointed to find just 14 episodes this season but looking forward to it all the same. ( I always wait for the home release before viewing it as i love watching 4 episodes at a time ) Kevin M. ( I always wait for the home release before viewing it as i love watching 4 episodes at a time ) Well, there was only going to be 16 episodes anyways for the next 3 seasons each. smkstang1 04-26-08, 04:46 PM Cant wait for Lost either... the only show that I watched 2 to 4 times and there is something new every time I watch it... It appeals to a wide spectrum of people, from casual viewers to hardcore followers. Great show indeed. dannyk8232 04-28-08, 06:38 PM I think it's awesome a new season of Lost was finally announceed for BD release - whether it be S1, S2 or S4! rlindo 04-28-08, 09:40 PM HDDigest says the SRP of lost is 60 bucks. Interesting there are the two diff figures. I think it for sure shouldn't be priced the same as the last 3 seasons since it is what, 8-10 episodes shorter. I learned my lesson with season 3 (got the dvd set only to see the bluray priced the same a month and changed later at amazon) and will wait for season 4 blu-ray to be dropped to the same price at amazon as the dvd will be. ToEhrIsHuman 10-08-08, 09:45 PM 'Lost' S4 on BD has been reduced down to $52.95 on Amazon. smkstang1 10-09-08, 09:54 AM 'Lost' S4 on BD has been reduced down to $52.95 on Amazon. thanks, just preordered GizmoDVD 10-09-08, 11:08 AM Cool, my Amazon pre-order automatically adjusted for me. GizmoDVD 11-24-08, 07:04 PM Got my S4 Blu-ray today...and just as I expected, Disney changed the outer box. Gone is the nice hard cardboard style case with velcro and instead we get a simple slipcase. Sigh. Getting tired of the studios changing the way the slip cases look compared to other sets/movies (POTC, Smallville, Saw films etc.) http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/7869/1000684ii5.th.jpg (http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1000684ii5.jpg)http://img525.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif (http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php) http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/4397/1000685hn7.th.jpg (http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1000685hn7.jpg)http://img355.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif (http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php) stumlad 11-25-08, 12:21 AM Cool, my Amazon pre-order automatically adjusted for me. Much like S3, it has outstanding PQ and a very strong PCM sound track. hdblu 11-25-08, 03:11 AM Lost is out in Australia here a link http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/801366 S-Blu 11-25-08, 08:12 AM I live in Australia and recently got Season 4 of Lost on BD. Picture and Sound are awesome. GizmoDVD 11-25-08, 11:03 AM You got this early from Amazon or somewhere else? Sorry, its a review copy. I ordered from Amazon as well just to play it safe. stumlad 11-25-08, 01:02 PM For all of you who got it before me... You suck! :) I thought Season 3 was top quality PQ except for a few of the scenes in the first 3 or so episodes where Jack was locked up. For those who have it, how do you think it compares? cocoon 12-29-08, 12:22 AM I really like the season play that they had for the Lost season 3 set. This time around the season play remembers the episode position correctly but it does not store the preferred audio settings. So I have to set it for uncompressed PCM before clicking season play. Anyone else have this problem? I am using a Panasonic BD50K. BAMAVADER 12-29-08, 12:27 AM I really like the season play that they had for the Lost season 3 set. This time around the season play remembers the episode position correctly but it does not store the preferred audio settings. So I have to set it for uncompressed PCM before clicking season play. Anyone else have this problem? I am using a Panasonic BD50K. Have you noticed the audio muting the first few seconds of each episode starting from the disc menu? It ususally cuts out "Previously on Lost". It happens to me on every disc but when I rewind it works right. I didn't have this problem with Season 3 at all. I have the Panasonic BD 50 with a Denon 987 on my main system but I also have two other systems and it does it on all of them. I even switched out the discs and it did the same thing so it has to be the discs. Thanks... RTR BEAT UTAH Sujay 12-29-08, 12:44 AM This time around the season play remembers the episode position correctly but it does not store the preferred audio settings. I also have Samsung's first Bluray hooked up via optical cable with regular DD with a HTIB and ALL Of them mute the first two seconds on each disc. Again, I had no problem at all with Season 3 on any of these. RTR BEAT UTAH Sujay 12-29-08, 12:12 PM Let me double-check my disc later today and get back to you. cocoon 12-29-08, 12:42 PM Have you noticed the audio muting the first few seconds of each episode starting from the disc menu? Wonder what the deal is? I was wrong about disc 4. Seems it only kept the audio settings because I did not turn the player off last night. When I resumed season play a few minutes ago I had to go back and change it to uncompressed audio. Same thing for the mute problem. BAMAVADER 12-30-08, 04:46 AM I was wrong about disc 4. I hope this can be fixed preferably with a firmware update and if that isn't a viable solution disney home video could send replacements if the fault is on their end. Agreed about the firmware. I'm just glad to know that I am not the only one with the problem. I knew it wasn't my equipment because it did it on all of the setups I have. I will be watching these threads about others with the problem and solutions. I will keep in touch with you as well. If you see or hear anything, please post it on here and keep the thread going.
