weird , the remote control works everywhere, but if u r in Tv mode , it can't be used to change the shutter speed, u have to use the up/down joystick

and if u r in Av mode, the remote can't be used to change Aperture, u have to use joystick .

it is designed in this way intentionally ?

my hf10 was bought in Japan, and has only english and japanese languages
