View Full Version : First Knight - quick review
mdc3000 04-26-08, 09:56 AM Watched the BD of First Knight yesterday. For a movie of it's age, for the most part it looked fantastic. There were a few shots that were a bit dirty and showed some flaws with the print, but overall another great looking catalogue title from Sony. The audio was very good, aggressive at parts and clear. Fans of the movie will not be disappointed with this release.
Htdude14 04-26-08, 10:28 AM Thanks, I'm looking forward to this release. Found one a little early did ya;)

Yes I also just got this. Anxious to play it this weekend!
Plays on Starz or one of those in HD from time to time and I was nicely surprised at how great much of it looked. The DVD was horrid by comparison.
I agree, I reviewed this title a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with the PQ and AQ. It is so much better than the DVD that you would think they were different movies.

Screened it as well, great transfer. Thanks for sharing.
PRO-630HD 04-26-08, 04:46 PM Should be getting it soon! Can't wait.
Great news, wish I did not have to wait till next Tues. Where does everyone get these early
I do reviews at 2 sites so I get advance copies.
TWISTED BULLET 04-27-08, 08:37 PM yes i thoroughly enjoyed this one.
mhafner 04-28-08, 05:52 AM Makes me feel nostalgic... That was the first feature film I had seen in HD, in 1080i on a CRT projector. Probably 7 years ago. I was ecstatic about the image quality.
DM2006RI 04-28-08, 10:24 AM But you won't feel that ecstatic now.
No foolin'. The movie is awful, a misfire almost across the board.

IYHO. I like it. So there.
ShagMan 04-29-08, 09:40 AM It's a cheesefest, but I have a weakness for cheese movies. Richard Gere does some of the poorest swordplay EVER.
Here's a fun edit:

FoxyMulder 04-29-08, 10:53 PM I like this movie....real shame about the horse that died during the making of it but that was an accident.
I thought Richard Gere was quite good in this but Connery dominates any scene he's in and adds class to the proceedings - Great music score too.

I agree, I've always liked this movie. Awesome score
robertc88 04-30-08, 09:12 AM Think I'll check it out in the near future as I never saw this movie. Thanks for your opinions.
