What camcorder bag is everyone using with the hf10/hf100?

I think I bought that bag years ago and ironically I'm using it right now. What I don't care for with most of the bags is that the camera fits in deep in the bottom and the velcro adjustable stuff is meant for the sides, not the top of the camera. With this bag the camera does fit in pretty nicely flush and I laid the protector on top and put in the cords and cables. Could also do it in reverse actually.

I almost ordered the Lowepro Rezo 60 (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Rezo-60,2015,26.htm). It has the perfect interior size for the HF100, and the pouch in front is perfect for a spare card and a spare battery:

Canon HF 100 - 2.9 x 2.5 x 5.1 in.

Rezo 60 Interior - 3W X 2.8D X 5.5H in.
Rezo 60 Exterior - 3.7W X 4D X 5.9H in.

BUT... I just realized that the hand-strap needs to fit in the bag too, so now I'm not sure if this bag will work.

Anyone here ever try this bag? If so, did the camera fit okay?

If not, any other suggestions for a small bag like this? I want the smallest bag possible.

I'm guessing that the photo posted by TIXX in post #2 is the Lowepro Edit 110.

I still think the best bag would be the Rezo 60 -- that is IF the camera will fit (my concern is that the strap may not fit).

I'll have my HF100 tomorrow... hopefully I'll be able to find a Rezo 60 in person to see how it fits.

What do you guys think of this bag for the HF100?

It's the Lowepro Apex 100 AW (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Apex-100-AW,1900,20.htm):

Canon HF - 2.9 X 2.5 x 5.1
Apex 100 - 3.7 X 3.0 X 5.1 interior (5.1W X 4.5D X 6.3H exterior)

The size looks just right, doesn't it?

But what if we only want to hold the camera? :)

:p

Now that I think about it, my version of everything you need might be different from someone elses. For me it holds the camera, power cord and a handheld tripod in the main compartment (camera protected by the padded separator), memory card reader and remote in the netted zipper compartment on top, brick power supply in the big pocket, 819 battery in the side pocket and extra SD memory in the other side pocket.

If you have extra lenses or an external mic, these probably won't fit in this bag. I'm probably going to pick up the standalone battery charger which will save a little room also.

Ebay #130107617170. I said it before but will say again one more time. If you want to fit the camera only, this is the closest thing I found (and bought). There is room for the remote control and extra card, card reader... Some room in the main pocket but not sure what I can use it for. We went to CC and BB looking at various Lowepro and others but they were all too big and/or clunky to us. After I bough this, my wife saw some other bags in Ross and she swore that those would be best of all.

[Edit] Typo, and a bit of clarification.

Comm CZ - The TLZ5 looks very attractive to me.

A question for you:-

Is there room to have either the BP-809 or BP-819 connected to the camera and a spare in the main compartment?

Not sure if "Camera Alone" picture is with battery attached or not.

Essential I want to carry around two batteries (one spare, one attached) and a couple of 16GB SHDC cards, which should fit in the pocket.

I want something that "just fits" and not something with additional bulk I don't need and the TLZ 5 may be exactly what I'm after.......

"Camera alone" picture is with BP-809 attached (but there is no difference in camera lenght with or without BP-809!). I'll post more pictures with BP-819 attached and BP-809 in the main compartment later.

IMHO this bag is great. It looks good (my wife loves it) and camera survived 2m (80 inches? :)) fall

Just got my Lowepro Rezo 60 today. It fits perfectly and is another good option. Compared to the Edit 100, it is notably smaller but also less protective. The sides are only a single layer of neoprene. It also lacks the carry handle on top, and has fewer storage pockets. If you want very good protection while still having a fairly small case, the Edit 100 or TLZ 5 are the better choice. If you want a smaller case and are ok with moderate protection, then the Rezo 60 is a great choice. See attached photos.

The 2nd photo shows that there is a little extra height, so an extended battery or small lens attachment should fit ok.

The 3rd photo shows side-by-side with the Edit 100.

Update: The front pocket could easily fit two BP-809 batteries, or at least one BP-819. I don't have a BC-800 charger to try, but it probably won't fit. I found some specs that say it is 3.5x2.3x1. I have another charger that is about 3x2x1, and it BARELY fits.

Wow, fantastic comparison pics all around!

Coincidentally, I just returned from BestBuy and CircuitCity. Neither place had the Rezo 60, unfortunately, but I bought the Edit 100 from BB and a Tamrac T92 (http://www.tamrac.com/5292.htm) from CC. The T92 is pretty similar to the Rezo 60.

Originally I wanted the smallest bag I could get, period. But to be honest, the Edit 100 is not that much bigger, yet it adds more protection, a carry handle, and extra storage pockets -- which could come in handy for a spare battery, charger, SD cards, cables, etc). Not bad... not bad at all. :)

05-21-08, 03:06 PM
P.S. -- after playing with both bags, I'll most likely return the Tamrac T92. Nice little bag, but the Edit 100 is close enough in size that it doesn't make sense to keep them both.

I'm still curious about the Rezo 60... but I wonder if I'd feel the exact same way about it as the Tamrac.

Rezo 60 is pretty small too. I was going to test it, but only Rezo 40 has arrived :(

Hey guys, my spare battery (BP809) and spare battery charger (CG800) just arrived from Newegg...

The battery charger does NOT fit in the little Tamrac, so I'm guessing it won't fit in the Rezo 60 either. But it DOES fit in the front pouch of the Edit 100! :)

I'm keeping the Edit 100, but I just returned the Tamrac bag and ordered the Rezo 60.

I'll use the Rezo 60 when I want to take just the HF100 and nothing else, and I'll use the Edit 100 when I want to include a spare battery, charger, cables, etc.

For a grand total of $38.69 for both bags, I figure it's worth having them both. :)

Don't buy the Canon SC-A40 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830999235). Although specs say it's "compatible" w/the HF100, it isn't.

After doing some research and seeing the models listed in the above posts, I have found an alternative. Since I will be using a wide angle lens frequently, I need a bag with extra height.

Interior dimensions are: 4"W x 3"D x 6.25"H. It seems fairly similar sized to the Edit 100 but with more height. I am close to purchasing and am curious if any one has heard of it. I have a great Tamrac bag for my DSLR and usually stick with the big names.

A note of caution: Keep the wrist strap away from the hook portion of any velcro. The strap uses a loosely weaved material, so it sticks to the velcro which then leaves permanent snags on the strap.

I was *SO* picky finding the right bag that's a perfect fit for my HF100, bought and returned 3 others (2 Lowepro and a Case Logic) before finding this perfect one! Best part, it was only $15 at Circuit City! And as a bonus the color matches the HF100 ;) It is very nicely padded. I'm not sure if it'll work if you have the big battery. I have a second battery which fits in the front pocket.

Now I have a slight idea why the ladies are so particular about bags ;)

For those looking for an alternative to the Lowepro Edit 110, I found this Case Logic QPB51 bag.

It's practically the same size as the Edit 110. However, I found it easier to fit the camera and accessories in the Case Logic bag. In addition to the HF100 with a BP-819 battery; I am able to fit 2 additional batteries, the camera charger and its cord, a separate battery charger, the remote, 2 extra SDHC cards, a card reader, and an HDMI cable.

I currently have the Lowepro Cirrus TLZ5 for my HF100. Although it's a nice bag, I find myself carrying "only" HF100 with an extra SD card most of the time. Just for this purpose, it feels big. HF100 itself moves inside the main compartment for instance...

I am trying to decide between the Tamrac 5292 and 5692. I used 5692 before with my Canon S3 IS, so I have an idea about its size. However, I dont know how much smaller the 5292 is compared to 5692. Even if it's a tight fit with the HF100, I dont mind it that much, because I wont be carrying anything else most of the time.

Any info on these two Tamrac models for HF100 would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I agree with Mav. The Tamrac 5692 is perfect. I had both the Rezo 60 and the Tamrac, and I like the Tamrac more. Besides being a more snug fit, the Tamrac has thicker sides so it offers better protection.

I just bought the case logic one from their website for $23.98 delivered. I hope I like it because I'm not going to return it!

docvenzon...thanks for the information on the Case Logic bag. Just as a bit of information, I was at my local TJ Maxx today and they had a bunch of these same bags for $12.99. So if anyone is looking for this bag, check out your local TJ Maxx before buying it online. You will same some $$.

Thanks for the tip. I just grabbed one of these from TJ Maxx for $15. It's perfect for what I wanted which is basically fitting in all of the cables and a spare battery.

Unless I am missing it, I do not see part numbers on these items: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=hf10+bag&x=0&y=0

Can anyone suggest which one to purchase for the HF10 - extra battery - charger -maybe a lens - remote.

I bought a Case logic qpb51 from tj maxx. Its a great bag and easily holds the charger the 809 battery and some other wires and what not i want to keep

Thanks for the recommendation. I never would have thought of TJ Max.
I bought the Case Logic QPW21. It's almost half the size.
The charger won't fit, but I really don't want to carry that around.
The HF100 with the larger battery does fit, and that's all I wanted.
It was $8.

I just bought the Lowepro Edit 100 at BB, and the Canon HF10 fits perfectly. Of course now I'm looking at the Lowepro Apex 100 AW (it looks really sharp), and the Case Logic QPB-51 seems highly regarded. Any thoughts??

Hi All,

HF-10 with Canon WD-H37 II wide conversion lens attached can be put into this M-rock Niagara 506 bag or not? Please anyone had experience about this if some one had all 3 items, please.... help me to take photo and show me.

Thanks in advanced.

I have a great Tamrac bag for my DSLR and usually stick with the big names.

hteinlin,

That bag may no fit if you plan to attach the extended battery + wide angle lens + the camcorder. Check out this link from Amazon and read the comment from Devin Reilly. http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-SLRA-1-Small-Black/dp/B000VVVMVE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

The Case Logic SLRA-2 Medium SLR Lens Case should fit all 3 components combined.

I bought the Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Bag on sale at REI for $16.00. It fits my Canon HF10 and all the extras perfectly. I added the photos to the Amazon Crumpler 2 Million product link: http://www.amazon.com/Crumpler-MILLION-DOLLAR-Shoulder-Oatmeal/dp/B000W8XH9Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top.

I HIGHLY recommend this bag!

Here's what fits:

Canon HF10 with WD-H37 II and BP-819 attached
Canon BP-809 standard battery
Canon CG-800 Wall Charger
Remote
Canon pleather pouch for WD-H37 II

Note: This bag should fit the Canon HF11 and new Canon HF20 / HF200 just fine, since it's pretty much the same dimensions as Canon HF10/100.

That looks like a great bag! But I do need one that will hold all the stuff you show, as well as able to hold the Rode Videomic. I have the HF100 camera. Thanks!!
