I bought a small flatscreen TV for my bedroom and wanted to hook it up to a small shelf stereo system I already had set up for music in there. My problem is that the TV only has Coax out for sound and the shelf system is a little older and has the red/white L/R inputs for the Aux channel. Is there a cable or a small converter I can buy to make this work without needing to go out and buy a new shelf system? I can't seem to find anything out there that would work...
Thanks in advance!
I don't know if this will work, but using just the ends you need it just might.

Coax? can you find a picture what you see? I am not sure what you are talking about.
If is a digital signal you would need a DAC to convert it to analog audio.
Have Fun!
I'll see if I can get a pic posted tonight... it's the orange colored output and is labeled Coaxial Output. I just don't have a Coaxial input in that shelf system... I'll see if I can find the DAC you're referring to...
My problem is that the TV only has Coax out for sound
What's the model number of the tv? Most have an analog output...maybe yours is 3.5mm.
If that is the case, you would use a cable like this:

Found it! Thanks kmannth!

I concur with Rupert...
what's the make/model of the TV? I find it hard to believe that the TV has digital audio out, but not analog audio out.
It could be a price difference of ~$75. ;)
